I edited it. It only happens in the Truth or Dare thread, and it happens in both browsers.

I figured out what it was. I had the { & } replaced with [ & ] in this post:

Nope. I don't even know what those are.

*sees AYAME* well I guess it's obvious we shouldn't ask for pictures of other people. I think we should not dare people to go into other threads.

That is extremely silly. Not daring people to posting pictures is not synonymous with daring them to post in other threads.

@ZCOverload: What was your most embarrassing sexual or sexually related experience (PG-13 summary, of course)?

Well, Right now, Most people just edit the answer into their previous post, if they ask for truth

This is the most confusing part. It's more difficult to backtrack than it is to read posts chronologically.

This is how it should go, in my opinion:

Poster A: Truth
Poster B: Gives a question. Dare
Poster C: Gives a Dare. Dare
Poster A again: {Quote->Poster B} Answers truth. Gives a Dare. Truth
Poster C again: {Quote->Poster A} Proves completion of dare. Truth

And so on.

Truth.

I hold you in the highest regard, my friends.

I can and will donate if needed, I'm saving up for a house so it won't be huge amounts but I'll always be able to spare 10-20 pounds a month (15-30ish dollars to you US folk) for a place that's done a lot for me in keeping me sane :P

Really, Plasma?  You thought quoting the entirety of a spambot's post was the right thing to do?  And I shouldn't give you points for that why?

Didn't Greg say it was alright to respond to the spam bots and solicitors so long as the post is reported (which I did)?

Respond - yes. Quote the entirety of their post, especially the link hell that was this case? No. Especially since I did a mass delete of the spam posts from the admin panel and only happened to catch that you'd quoted the guy so I could remove that as well.  :domo:

Nah, not arduous, but if I hadn't checked the thread (since the new post alert had gone away with the deletion), I just wouldn't have caught that the spam was still there in the quote.  It's not a biggie, don't worry yourself.

The point that Rhyssa is making is that you should try to be cognizant about why the rule is there, and what the implications are behind responding to a spam post. I know it's not generally your jobs to be removing spam, but if you're going to respond, try to think about how it will effect what we're doing. For instance, responding in a spam created thread is going to be less of a problem because the entire thread is deleted.

But you still give warnings for it.

You can mass delete....? God I miss that.

Responding and quoting a spambots post within a spambot created thread is easier to clean up because once the thread is deleted all responses and quoted posts automatically get deleted with it. Got it.

Quoting a spambots post within one of our already created threads can go undetected when mass deleting that spambots posts and thus does not get deleted and the spambots post remains on the forum through that quoted post, meaning it doesn't really get thoroughly cleaned up. Got it.

In either situation if you respond without reporting you can receive a warning. Got it.

from my love ish
