1) Religious Views:
1.5) If religious, polytheistic or monotheistic:
2) Reason for religious beliefs: Try to be concise. You can explain, but be clear and to the point, so we can quantify the reasons properly.
I have never identified or believed fully in a certain religion and there beliefs pertaining to god, but have never been able to justify our existence without the presence of a sort of supreme being.
3) Religious background:
Raised Methodist and with many general christian beliefs mixed from different sects
4) How strongly do you believe in your beliefs?
0: Don't care in them, I just do it.
1: Weakly, I might change/convert
3: Strongly believe in my opinion.
5) Have you ever changed your beliefs? Yes or No
Like a lot of kids i grew up liking church and seeing the bible as plausible but overtime i grew to distrust the church and although i dont hate religion i believe a large part of it is just storytelling, so i have changed once as a kid but not since then even after seeing and experiencing other religions.
5.5)If yes, then from what to what? Why?
Christian to current
6) How do you think this has affected you? Positively, negatively, etc.
Positively and Negatively if im being honest, living without religon means making your own rules and ethics which sometimes have led me wrong as opposed to if id followed a christian code strictly, but i also believe that being a intelligent member of society means having a healthy disbelief in religion, depending on your own experience of course, for me thats led me to being able to think about these questions outside of a religious view point which is positive i think.
7) What is your opinion of religion? Do you think religion should no longer be a part of society today? Explain why or why not.
It honestly varies often, i sometimes think religion should have never been created and is a scourge upon the earth, but most recently and most of the time i think religion is part of the human condition, none of us truly know the answers to the "Big questions" and thus being curious beings we search and think out different ways of explaining our existence so i dont think religion is going to go away anytime in the near future so i cannot truly say it should go away b/c its an unreasonable thing to say. I think religion has many good qualities, the main problem is we have had religions that have stuck to the same models for 2000 years or so and we need new belief systems that fit in the mindsets of todays population, which is why i think we see a huge shift away from them in recent years, people cant relate to old unbelievable stories anymore.
8) Political Standing: Liberal/Conservative/Anarchist/Socialist/Other (State)?
Haha anarchist, no but id classify myself as a liberal, im a fairly moderate person in general but i swing liberal on issues more then i do conservatively. So moderate liberal.
