Just caught up with this series and I got to say; it's actually pretty good. Even underrated. What I like about it is that most of the fights aren't traditional. The outcome are for the most part not pre-determined, it doesn't follow the receipt that the last person to power-up wins, it avoids the typical "one person can dodge every move" fights (meaning that when you as a reader are expecting the person to dodge he doesn't manage (this one is tough for me to explain)) and the power levels are pretty consistent so far, with a few very few exceptions.
So even though the characters are stereotypical, the fights aren't. Which is a nice change.
