Spoiler Crunch! Crunch!
It is that time again.
The familiar sidewalks and streets,
Paved with fallen leaves.
No matter how I try to avoid,
I can’t help but step on them,
The sound echoing through
The empty street.
Yesterday, while I was at school,
My mother raked all the loose leaves from our backyard
Into one gigantic pile.
Returning home, I was drawn to it,
Newly fallen leaves crunching beneath my shoes.
I knew how hard she had worked to create this pile;
she does this each and every Autumn.
Yet, I knew what I must do: embrace my inner child.
With a running start, I plunged myself
Into the midst of the massive leaf pile.
Seasons come and seasons go,
But there is none so picturesque
As the trees as Autumn painted
With the vibrant hues of
Reds, Oranges, Yellows, and, even, Browns.
The wind ruffles the leaves,
Bringing more to the ground
Until none remain among the trees.
Winter is coming, but,
For now, I’ll just enjoy
Walking along, stepping deliberately
On the fallen leaves.
Spoiler These Leaves of Mine, This Life of Ours
Watch as they are born, these leaves of mine,
To a world of winds, high on tree's to climb,
Each a bud of life, a smaller part of a whole,
Yet each is special, each paying its toll,
Watch them grow, these leaves of mine,
From tiny nubs, to emeralds that shine,
Children they are, all but naive to the land,
Being forced like us all, to grow and expand,
Watch them live, these leaves of mine,
All a beacon of green, free of grime,
Sitting in the sky, untouched by the famines of life,
Scraping the heavens, with no mind for strife,
Watch them wilt, these leaves of mine,
Devoured by pestilence, no longer pristine and fine,
Though each clings to life, oblivious to its fate,
Everyone of them breathing, pulling its weight,
Watch them fall, these leaves of mine,
Dancing in the air, the color of wine,
A cascade of fire, setting the air alight,
So few paying attention, to their final plight,
Watch them die, these leaves of mine,
Stomped into the dirt, where insects dine,
Forced to know pain, far from where they touched the stars,
All without freedom, though held down with no bars,
Watch them rot, these leaves of mine,
Brown and brittle, their beauty in decline,
Covered in cracks, each a mouth that pines for home,
But their time has past, now little more then ancient bone,
Now watch them grow, these leaves of mine...
worming white, upwards
budding green, stalking.
for the many-legged
on a breath,
Their final repose,
a carpet of rose.
Anon, a fire crinkles
Spoiler Devil's Lettuce
Took the ziploc out my pocket...then unlocked it,
Scooped up a handful of the herb and closely watched it,
Had sticks and stems, brown like the earth,
Stunk like a skunk so I knew got my money's worth,
Started cleaning the dank on top of a One Piece mag,
Bambu wrap that I had, stuffed as much hemp that I can,
Lit up, like an engine puffed the Diesel smoke out my nose
Logged onto OMF and wrote this prose,
It's the kind of leaves that always elevates the mindstate,
The kind of leaves stuck up Debate thread posters try to hate,
Won't take the bait, only reason reefer makes tempers inflate,
Benson and Hedges doesn't want Mary Jane eating from their plate,
I'm extraterrestrial when the kush smoke enters my vessel,
I feel special, like parting two warm thighs virginial
Closer to nirvana when I get familiar with the Buddha,
Normal thoughts it neuters, blow minds like bazookas,
Weaker posters choke from the potent dope I smoke,
Have that bloke Evilcheeser telling jokes off one toke,
I'll shoot the sherriff for a pound of this Bob Marley,
It's beyond me why the powers that be want to deny me,
My Immaculate shrubbery, they said it's bad for me,
Yet Shin can drink his life away and beg for pennies,
De La Rosa can smoke tobacco till her lungs rot,
But everyone's distraught when JoE talks about pot,
Let's be real here, the issue is surely not health,
Tobacco and Booze just don't want to share the wealth,
So like licensed manga chapters, no issue scoring the hash illegally,
Be it in the street, abandoned building or a dark alley,
Get the purple haze that's hard to find like forum archives
Then go home and repeat the process in the first couple lines,
Spoiler My BulbasaurI finally hatched a Bulbasaur
To my surprise it was a carnivore.
On it's back it has a leaf
Got my back in any beef.
Bullying kids would be fun
If it was a water type that knew water gun.
As it evolved into an Ivysaur
I tried to teach it a monster's roar.
Though it evolved at sixteen
I wasn't for minors in my team.
So I unwrapped some rare candy
Now it's a Venasaur and life is dandy.
Thread will close in one week from now.
