@RhyssaFireheart

I like those pictures a lot but can't really tell/review how they are amazing given my lack of art knowledge and artistic talent. Just very nice to look at and easy on the eyes. They are great as backgrounds. My favorite are the second Fox River, Coming Into and The Burning Tree.

Do those come directly from your imagination or did you have to learn how to draw in abstract ways?

From my imagination.  I just put paint down in what looks like interesting ways.  In some cases I do have a plan first, but for others, I'm just making things up as I go.

So new year, new 30-in-30 painting challenge to take part in.  Here's a few that I've done so far in my usual watercolor on paper.

Day 1 "Confetti"

Day 3 "Tidal"

Day 4 "Untitled Abstract 2016-04"

Day 6 "The Shores of Desire"

Really like the first piece. The circles have an amazing effect on the rest of the painting - gives it a purpose? Though that's weird way of putting it. Works really well with the "blood splatter confetti" in the background though!  :D

The two in the middle is not my taste (Do I dislike green nuances that much...?) but the last one appears absolutely dazzling! And in a nice way! It truly seems alien and vile, a demented underground or cave. Really cool stuff.

What I really like about your art is that even if they are abstract they still look like things.

It is easy to imagine that the shapes and colors are strange, alien landscapes and all tell a story.

They are something I could hang on my wall and see something different every day.

That ambiguity and the way they vaguely resemble things makes the imagination work and turns them into something special.

Now I am sounding like an art critic... That was some thoughts though, I guess that is interesting to hear as an artist.

The "Confetti" piece can be a symbolic illustration of parallel worlds theory. I like it best.

I like Confetti because it looks like coffee stains and that's my aesthetic.

And also because I like really clean minimalistic stuff.

Watercolors can be so much fun to work with.  I enjoy them far more than working in acrylics these days.

New finished piece - "Water 02", watercolor and white ink, 9x12

Drew by hand using a crow quill and white acrylic ink.    Yes, finishing "Water 02" is taking longer now to put that pattern down because my wrist is now giving me issues and pain.

"Water 02" looks gorgeous!

Thanks!  I did work on it some more last night but like I said above, my wrist is giving me a lot of pain.  Doesn't help that I spend all day on the computer at work using the mouse, which contributes to the pain.

My latest - been taking my time working on this one and I think I finished it over the weekend.  Going to let it sit for a while before I take it off the board though (I can already see that I need to add shadows around the rays of the sun).

"The Gates of Tomorrow" 9 x 12, watercolor and white ink.
