Salazzle was hard to use because you get the TMs for Flamethrower and Sludge Bomb so late.

After getting Sludge Bomb, I had to give her the firium crystal because she definitely wasn't getting a chance to make a second attack on the next turn.

I need them to hurry up and update the Pokemon Bank so I can break the game.

I just use one copy to find pokemon, then trade them over to the other copy where I just started a new game.

God bug Pokémon are useless, even my Butterfree half the time except for taking hits. Got myself a female salandit. Not sure if it's worth trying to breed females.

Well Butterfree's stats are mediocore. but there are a lot of good bug Pokemon^^ Scizor, Vikavolt and Araquanid are some examples.

Golisopod has high base attack and Magneton doesn't resist water attacks.

Can't believe them treating this Pokemon Bank update like a college term paper.

I bet they're going to release it on January 31st at 12:59:59pm

I should have been starting the game with Dratinis and Prorygons 22 days ago

Ok so I'm trying to build an immunity/tank team if I ever get into competitive. Keep in mind I have no idea what I'm doing.

Honchkrow (Mandibuzz if 100)
Dugtrio
Mimikyu (insert ghost or fairy if I can't find one)
Oranguru (thought about Snorlax, but fighting types. Can also go fairy/normal)
Hairyama because I know people will use Snorlax

After that I have no idea. Kinda want a dragon but I'm risking being beat by fairies and I have a Kommo-o I'm trying to train past 50.

Any tips for competitive?

Mandibuzz and Honchkrow work completely differently, if you want to tank use Mandibuzz, if you want to be a frail attacker use Honchkrow.

Alolan Dugtrio is bad, consider replacing it for another ground or steel type, whichever you want. Garchomp, Mamoswine, Krookodile for ground types and Celesteela, Kartana, Aegislash, Magnezone, Scizor for steel type and Mega Metagross and Mega Lucario are also cool options for the mega slot.

Don't be shy to use the Tapu's either. Your opponent is almost definitely gonna use at least one of them and all of them are great.

If you are looking for a ghost type that can take hits then Alolan Marowak is the best, sporting 3 immunities with the lightning rod ability and can hit hard as well when it's holding thick club. Mimikyu is usable but can be harder to use well since it's ability only works once, Gengar is also a option but it is a glass cannon.

Oranguru is kinda meh, it's gimmick doesn't work in singles format so consider replacing it with a different mon if you are playing singles.

Hariyama is pretty solid.

Kommo-o is pretty meh honestly, everything it can do something else can do better. But the best set is probably dragon dance set dragon claw/outrage, sky uppercut and poison jab as attacks. It can also be a special attacker with clanging scales, focus blast, flamethrower and flash cannon. Autotomize can also be used when you want it go be faster (and lighter).

Also, be careful relying on immunities to get a defensive synergy. Most pokemon in the competitive scene have dual typings and use more than one move of a type so they will usually have something for your ghost/ground/steel/fairy type and some of them just have great offensive typings so you can't rely on immunities to beat the likes of Mamoswine and Garchomp.

Use OU tier pokemon

For one, it'll probably be best to use 1 Tapu (Lele and Koko are the most used) and 1 UB (Kartana, Celesteela and Pheromosa are the most used) on your team....For dragons, the most viable ones right now are either Garchomp, Dragonite or Salemence....Kommo-o isn't a bad choice either but it's REALLY easy to kill especially since it's weak to Psychic moves. I would also recommend Mega Evolution pokemon (Like Metagross, Scizor, Gyrados or Alakazam) but sadly we can't use them in these official tournament events

Mimikyu is a good choice and is pretty OU right now.....Oranguru isn't great outside of Double Battles/VGC tbh....Hariyama wouldn't last long unless you're playing NU or RU (Which are the lower tiers of competitive play)...Dugtrio is pretty viable but it's kind of a glass canon (Especially the Alola version being a steel type - So if you want to go with an Alola form Pokemon, the most viable ones right now are Ninetails, Raichu - When teamed with Tapu Koko, Muk and Marowak)....Honchkrow is a good mon but Mandibuzz would be better since it's bulky, can act in an anti-hazard role and can really make people suffer with Foul Play (Best set would be Defog, Foul Play, Roost and Taunt/Toxic with a defensive nature)

To give you a full breakdown of what you will see the most in the competitive OU scene pre and post Pokebank, you will mainly see these mons:

Tapu Lele

Kartana

Celesteela

Tapu Koko

Tapu Fini

Alola Marowak

Alola Ninetails

Alola Muk

Xurkitree

Pheromosa

Garchomp

Mandibuzz

Metagross (Mega)

In official tournaments only the box art legendaries and mythical pokemon are banned (Solgaleo and Magearna for example). Everything else is free game.

Plus, on the Showdown simulator there is a fan-made metagame with it's own rules that allows mythical pokemon that would normally be banned.

Isn't there a 50/100 tier tournament? Wouldn't 50 make some of the legendaries useless?
