"Not all music needs to be great or even serious, but with the music that is there's a problem. I think music is far better now than ever before in history, but it's obviously not that way in the mainstream. Even among music aficionados, there is a clear confusion about whether or not there actually is any music experience that can rise above a truly basic song. Music theorists know this to be the case, but frankly too many of them are old and out of touch with the only way of finding the largest collection of progressive music which is by illegally torrenting them (or spending millions of dollars I guess). Why should this lack of musical progression seem so prevalent if whether or not the best is played the average progresses higher and higher? It's obvious why pop hits are what radio spends most of its time on, but even if it made an effort to play the best experimental songs they could find it would not make a big difference as I think it's the way that music is listened to that's to blame. The idea of an eargasmic sound or perfectly sung sentence should be as self evidently ridiculous as the best line of a book, although there are obviously key moments that trump all others there is no sound imaginable that listened to by itself for 2 seconds would please anyone just as there is no sentence in a book that by itself would be anyone's favorite book. It's the context of the sound and meaning of the words in a story that matter. We're extremely lucky that consumers 200 years ago had no say in how much of a Beethoven symphony they got to listen to or they surely also would've said the best 3 and a half minutes at a time missing the whole point. A classical symphony can only be appreciated in its entirety with all of its highs and dreadful, sometimes annoying lows and modern music is no different. Concerts are good for this, but they also woefully miss the peak of a musical experience. An album is pointless if it is a collection of songs that might as well be singles, but must be an entity in its own right. The time that goes into crafting and producing a progression of sounds with a perfect flow is absolutely necessary for an experience worthy to be called an artistic masterpiece. This is well understood in mainstream literature, mainstream film and needs to become understood in mainstream music, but the majority of public consciousness is so far behind in that category it is concerning how long that might take. It really saddens me." @NGEFan

Lmao I'm not going to pretend I'm some intellectual on music or have some deep words for this but the best definition I can give is that
music is everything. It goes with everything. I can't really explain it in good words but maybe when you're playing a game and in a big battle, hey? This song goes really well to this because they're moving to the beat of the music. Or maybe you see some girl you like and you think this song corresponds to her really well, e.t.c e.t.c. Well, I would say, music is someone's inner essence being sent to other people to understand. Ok, thats probably around 12 words, lol. But what I mean is that words do not need to be used to describe it, it's just that feeling you get as the listener, when you hear a song that you really like. Emotionaly, it touches you, that is what I mean by the essence of the person who made the song, you are feeling it. @Chizi

Jace: Let me get this straight. You came here to apologize to me?
Clary: Of course I did.
Jace: Clary, you saved my life.
Clary: I stabbed you. With a massive sword. You caught on fire. - City Of Lost Souls
"Shut up. I can do this. I'm a ******* Superhero. I didn't condemn myself to burning in Hell for the rest of eternity for nothing, you hear me?" Sistah Spooky - Empowered Volume 5
Ninjette: So, how exactly do I end up dying?
Demongoat: I will not tell you that. But I will tell you this: as you would see it now and as you will see it, at the moment of your death, you will die well, Kozue.
Ninjette: Huh. Well, that's nice.
Demongoat: But long after you are dead, and this city is ashes and your species is extinct and this planet is a graveyard, and every star in its sky has gone dark, and all the universe beyond is lifeless and still I will carry your memory with me, perfect in every detail, into the next universe. - Empowered Volume 7
"Gentlemen, they say when you die you can't take it with you. Which begs the question: Exactly what am I gonna do with all these bullets?" - The Punisher (Secret Wars #1)
"Okay, so I'm not a good pickpocket, but when you think about it, bad guys are good pickpockets, so it's a win." - Gwen Stacy(Spider-Verse Vol 2 #1)
Sanctuary: Not Kara, you're only delaying the inevitable. Stop resisting and I'll make your demise easy and painless. Well, painless is a relative term. I can at least promise that I won't take any pleasure in your screams of agony. I'm not rude.
Supergirl: Trying to kill me over a miscalculation isn't rude?
Sanctuary: As these neural-scions will attest, I am the pinnacle of Kryptonian technology. I do not make miscalculations.
Supergirl: You're making one right now.
Sanctuary: Oh? And what is that?
Supergirl: *Punching neural-scion* That I'll ever go down without a fight.
Sanctuary: You mean the 99.87% probability that you'd try punching your way to a resolution? Yes, that's why I filled the neural-scions with a bonding agent. No offense, but you're really not much of a thinker.
Supergirl: Okay, now you're making me angry.
Sanctuary: That's disappointing. I'm trying to make you die.

8. Hahaha.
Anime-Planet cause I'm pleb. And yes, I've seen less than you have.
Just awesome. A must. Also the gateway to most every other Gundam ever.
Entry Barriers: "It's too old." The animation can be off putting to those accustomed to newer stuff.
Entry Barriers: Probably requires research to understand everything i.e., reading the original novels and the prequels, consulting the tumblr/wiki page. https://just-believe.in/ has links to these and other resources.
One of the greatest satires I've seen so far. Maybe won't appeal to a lot of people. but picks apart some flaws of mankind in a way that just feels spot on.
Entry Barriers: [Placeholder for when someone finds a noteworthy one]
A classic gambling manga fare. Artisan tier game designs. Fukumoto's works always bring forward wonderful commentary concerning the human psyche, and never disappoints. Tension, psychological discussion that hits at the core, and raw emotional drive.
Entry Barriers: The artsyle.
Yeah yeah, it has the cute girls doing thigns going on but don't let that stop you. It was immensely worth. The delivery of the characters seemed a lot more natural to me than what I see most of the time. Yeah, the timing has to be one of it's greatest points. And it portrays the throes and woes of the workplace so fucking well! Working against the clock, dealing with incompetence. That and there's the details on the anime industry itself AS THE SUBJECT. Wrap that up with a colorful cast and you've got yourself a winner.
Entry Barriers: "Cute girls doing cute things" stigma.
Ah, here we go. I'll explain more later, but for now just...watch.
Entry Barriers: [Placeholder for when someone finds a noteworthy one]
Kyousougiga
Probably the anime with the most visually artistic flair in a long time.
An exemplar for all Japanimation. Indeed, it's quintessentially Japanese. Watching it all come together is fantastic.
Entry Barriers: It is very Japanese.
Steins;Gate {Powerful plot progression, good use of cinematic tricks, wonderful dialogue, awesome characters}
The series hasn't left much of lasting impression on me. It's great but not an instant rec.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann {ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWER!! Lose yourself to the optimism!}
Similar, though at this point everyone and their mother should have come across it by now.
