First lift off, I found it very was relatable  ;) Really really really good musicality and rhythm to it, reads like rap lyrics.

Also loved the surrealism, as a critique, I would have loved the surreal descriptions to evoke clearer imagery. For example "a room of mountains eating trees and/ the stones are burning leaves" has a really cool rhythm, but isn't particularly vivid. Personally I find vivid imagery really powerful when used with surrealism/ dreams, so I would have loved some of these descriptions to have a bit more detail. Even something as simple as "A room of gaping mountains eating trees, the stones are burning leaves" could add just that little bit more clarity to the image.

Overall great stuff, really liked it.

Thanks, i'm glad you liked it ! I had a hard time choosing between "The Slaying of the Backyard Dragon" and "The First Lift Off", really enjoyed both yours and @ entry. @hubris covered for the most part why "The First Lift Off" got that small edge from me, i'm a sucker for musicality and i thoroughly enjoyed the imaginary of the absurd world he created. Yours was pure in comparison and it really does make one remember his childhood and the power of make-believe. It's innocence is superb, and it made it tough for me to decide. So congratulations ! I've enjoyed the past couple of rounds that i took part in and both had winners that deserved the appreciation they received. :D
