To be fair in your example you would have only drawn unless the other person voted for their own poem and there aren't many people that want to be that guy. Otherwise I'd argue winning isn't in the spirit of things. We're writing poems which are meant to be feeling's and idea's given form in words, so churning something out for a vote makes it seem like the heart isn't in it. Plus if I'm being honest I will say the reward for winning is very underwhelming to me, but I don't use OMF that much anymore so to be fair I'm not bothered about showing off a title or ribbons.
My main idea for improvement is that people should talk more about the work rather than just voting. Speaking of which I have just posted how I feel about the entries by editing my last post if people want to take a look. Sorry if my wording is a little hectic. It makes sense in my head but I'm not sure.
