Okay guys, can someone tell if RWBY is a good anime or not because idk why it gives me a weird feeling.

Is it good or is it bad?

Hmmm

Well for me it's "okay or so/so". Has it's moments, sure. But overall, just so/so.

Others will and do feel differently. Though that's nothing unusual.

Best thing to do is just go with what you think about it. You say it makes you feel weird? Well then why does it make you feel weird? Ask yourself that, and then come to the answer that not only tells you why you feel that way about it but also how the series itself is too you.

I mean the impression you get before starting watching an anime. I've seen it here and there and decided to give it a try.

What genre is it?

And are all the volumes the same story or different ones?

Ah I see.

Well for that. When I first saw anything of it. My feelings were pretty much the same as how I feel about it after watching it.

That's good. Always healthy to try new things once in a while. :)

What genre is it?

Action, Adventure, Dark Fantasy, Science Fantasy.

And are all the volumes the same story or different ones?

All the same story, progressing through each volume, focusing on the main four ladies that make up RWBY.

So I take that it's an easy anime to watch, without having to use your brain very often.

Action, Adventure, Dark Fantasy, Science Fantasy.

All of this work for me thanks

Pretty much, yes.

It's very easy to follow. So you don't really come across much that makes you scratch your head.

No problem. :D

^Pretty much this. It's nothing ground breaking as far as storytelling is concerned. But damn if it doesn't have its charm. The kind of charm that keeps you coming back for more even though you know there's better stuff out there. I call it the Fairy Tail effect.

It's a definitely a unique story, while at the same time using every single shounen trope you can think of (whether that's a good or bad thing is subjective). The characters are all likable, even the villains. The animation is usually so-so, but the fight scenes are almost always fucking BEAUTIFUL. Seriously, it's poetry in motion. Especially in the first two seasons when Monty and Shane were around (and while the fight scenes may not be as great in Volume 4, they've still REALLY stepped their game up in every other aspect).

Basically, don't go in expecting some kind of philosophical masterpiece. It's your typical fantasy shounen with a few unique twists and turns. But, again, that's not necessarily a bad thing. What it lacks in any real depth, it makes up for in just being incredibly fun to watch, having characters that you can't help but care about, and fight choreography that should be winning Rooster Teeth awards.

Also the first Volume is only about 2 hours long (Volume 2 and 3 are about 3 hours long), so that makes it a lot easier for trying it out. RT has every episode is on Youtube:

WoR again.

Spoiler for WoR

Are they really worth watching? Because I've been skipping almost every one.

I've watched the character trailers and the first 3 episodes and I think I get what you guys are saying. It is easy to watch indeed and got this kawaii charm or w/e. As for the fight scenes, they're great, gotta love Yellow or Yang's ( I think ) fighting style :^_^:

Just try watching this one about the Great War, which was really good, and decide from there on if you want to watch the rest of them.

It just occured to me that Rubys Semblance is literally Senbonzakura.

literally Senbonzakura.

How?

Senbonzakura is made up of a bunch of blades that looks like sakura petals

Ruby leaves behind rose petals due to her speed.

How?

Senbonzakura is made up of a bunch of blades that looks like sakura petals

Ruby leaves behind rose petals due to her speed.

In the Volume 4 Character Short she turned into pedals and divided into three balls of pedals to get behind the gorilla and combined again. Also, in Chapter 8 when Qrow talked about his Semblance he said "... and some people can burst into rose pedals...". We only think Rubys Semblance is speed, because that is what she uses it for, but now we've seen she can do more with it. And I think Qrow, who has seen a lot and seems to have a good understanding of fighting and stuff, can assess the nature of Rubys power better than we. He also taught her her fighting stlye, so he has probably seen her in action enough to make that call.

I could be wrong, but until it is cleared up I'm going with this explanation. The only thing was a little streched is that Senbonzakura has blades, while Ruby is actual rose pedals.
