The main character definitely looks like Rey's mom and possibly Luke's wife.

The supporting male has an uncanny resemblance  with Poe.

Thought he was Poe too at first, but then I saw Mon Mothma and remembered that this is supposed to be like right before A New Hope, so the timeline wouldn't work. Female supporting lead definitely looked like Rey, but I thought she resembled Leia a bit too.

EDIT: Was anyone hoping for a male lead? I personally never thought about it, but I just showed my friend the trailer and he expressed some disappointment at not getting a male lead for this section of the universe, when Rey's being set up as a female lead for the modern day section in the new trilogy.

I kind of see where he's coming from depending on just how much they plan on doing in this area going forward, but with the young Han Solo film still on the docket (With the actor obviously being someone besides Ford) and a possible Boba Fett film I think that it'll balance out both ways.

I can't force you to believe me that's your choice. People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define "reality". But what does it mean to be "correct" and "true?" Merely vague concepts...their reality may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?-Itachi Uchiha

Nah, I knew from the get go that Felicity Jones was gonna be the lead

She's a great actress though and I loved her character in this trailer so I'm even more hyped to see her in action....I got the Rey vibe too lol but I doubt that she'll end up being her mom (Even though I wouldn't mind it)

A lot of people think that they're all gonna die too since this is a war film thats supposed to be pretty serious kinda like Saving Private Ryan so there's that

I was most impressed with Donnie Yen though :aww: The Death Troopers looked awesome too

Hmm, good point. But they could always do some kind of fakeout and reveal that they were assumed to be dead, if they really wanted to.

Saw that earlier. Was pretty funny.

Also it's not a matter of whether they have balls, that would stop them from retcon'ing SW history.
But whether or not they can make any money out of it.

So will not killing off the members of this mission, and letting them live long enough to have more films around them, thus meaning more money in Disney's pockets, be more in their interest ... or killing them off and keeping with the history of SW?

If she does.

Then hopefully it's not cause she'll be a Mary-Sue like some other failed female lead from the latest in Disney's attempts of ruining Star Wars. :P

Marty Stu I believe is the male usage.

An I don't see how he's a Sue by much or any means, like Rey.

Did he just jump into a craft for the first time and fly it better then trained fighters? No.

Did he accomplish everything he did within the first or second try? No.

Did he just use the Force without any means of training or guidance? Nope.

So do tell how he's a Sue like Rey when he's needed help, guidance, and training, just to get by?

he jumps in a x wing and blows up a death start with little to no training as a pilot.

he use the force with a little guidance, hell it takes years of jedi training to become a master he became one in what 3 years. Ben kenbo trains luke in the force for like two minutes blows up death star.

Completes his training by himself, in which no other jedi have shown to ever able to do.

Not true. Luke from the start was an accomplished pilot.

Due to him going about and racing in his spare time.

Another form of proof is his friend Biggs Darklighter, attesting to Luke's piloting skills before they departed in the X-Wings.

An yes I know Biggs Darlighter scenes are from the Special Edition, as they were cut out of the Original.

But it's part of the films, and thus is a credible source to validate Luke's piloting capabilities.

he use the force with a little guidance,

At first yes. But still he had aid in starting him along his path as a Jedi.

As well from a very accomplished Jedi Master.

hell it takes years of jedi training to become a master he became one in what 3 years.

I don't think Luke was a master. Well trained, yes. But a master he was not.

After all Yoda even told him he wasn't a Jedi yet, before he died.

Plus I don't think there's an exact time requirement in becoming a Jedi.

From what I gather, it all depends on the Padawan and how well they learn from their Masters.

I mean going by TCW. Ahsoka I think was with Anakin at least two or so years.

An by the time she left the Order, she was already being considered in being made an official Jedi.

So ... yeah.

Ben kenbo trains luke in the force for like two minutes blows up death star.

I doubt it was two minutes Wale.

But it is true that their time together was short.

However Obi-wan was around long enough to help Luke start his way.

Plus he also aided him via Force Ghost, with the Deathstar run. So it wasn't all Luke.

Also should mention that the Deathstar only got blown up thanks to Han and Chewy.

Cause without their intervention, Vader would have reduced Luke to space dust.

Completes his training by himself, in which no other jedi have shown to ever able to do.

After Obi-wan's death, he did do self training. But it only got him so far.

It wasn't until he went to Yoda, that his ability with the Force greatly improved.

Which is what he relied on and improved from, after ESB.

Did he accomplish things on his own? Yes.

But it was only thanks to the guidance and teachings of others, that allowed him to even get so far.

For without what they gave him to work with. He'd be pretty much nowhere's on the whole Jedi and Force status. lol

Pretty sure that was Luke's first time piloting an X-Wing (Yet alone being in a full scale battlefield) which would be fundamentally different than anything he would have got a chance to pilot in that dump desert lol

Ray was worst but, it took luke no time to become someone super powerful.

You talking about him racing nascar is different than an airplane. His force training wasn't that long with ben or yoda, but we skip to the third movie and everyone agrees he finish his training without a master. To this date no one have finish there training with out a master hey ray is going to be train by luke.

This. The prominent thought I had of the trailer was "Mary-Sue, Mary-Sue, Mary-Sue". It just seemed like she's gonna be the same as Rey.

Overall, I know it was just a "teaser" rather than a real trailer - but it still did nothing to wow me, or make me wanna see it immediately.

Wow, that's so problematic of you to say.  What a shitlord.

Also, are we still on the B-BUT LUKE IZ STU garbage after these months?
