I would like to recommend Tower of God, as it is a good one

Ah, an Aussie. Pretty sure there are more Aussies around.. Welcome to the forums. Have fun wandering about.

Seeing the series you've named I can see you're mastering the beginner pack. Asassination Classroom... now that's a beaut.

There's no end to reading manga and more importantly -clashing your opinions about them with other people-. If you enjoy that, you'll feel this forum to suit your needs. Look around you and you're likely to find people that could yabber a word or two (or a million) about any manga/comic/etc. you could possibly name.

I'm in to just about anything except the real naughty stuff!

Oh that...

That's simply a matter of time mate.

Nope, I really liked the first one. I love watching martial arts movies so it's perfect for me.

I haven't been collecting for that long so most of my series are the big named ones. I am slowly grabbing some that aren't on that list. I don't like buying second hand books though, so finding some of these series that are out of print is a challenge.

Unfortunately Australia has some pretty strict laws on some material found in adult manga so I tend to stay clear of them to be on the safe side :)

Actually, it's not as big a challenge as you think they are. The trick is to find an active anime/manga community. They'll show you the path.

Take my country (Turkey) for example, until a few years ago I thought it was practically impossible to obtain anime/manga merchandise/books/stuff within the country (though there's always the option of online shopping, amazon and stuff). I mean, admittedly anime/manga culture is not as highlighted as it is in some other countries, but there's still a small but definitive fanbase.

Only after spending more time with Turkish anime/manga fanbase had I discovered that there was actually a chain of comic/manga stores that did deal with these things. With only 3 stores in the entire country. Since they also adress to a very specific community it is practically impossible to discover about them unless a friend who knew them before. (or try your luck and accidentally stumble upon one of those 3 stores within an area of 783562 Km2)

Aand here comes the climax of this unnecessarily long story.

You said getting 1st-hand out-of-print stuff  is a challenge. But stores like the one I mentioned above adress to very specific and hardcore types of customers and those types of customers are hardly satisfied only with what's big. (I went to one of the stores and they even had the audacity to display their adult corner, which is only legal because our government is still not aware hentai is p0rn.)

I'm yet to find any anime/manga specific stores in Australia. There could well be but I don't know about them yet. There is one i think but they only sell japanese language books so not helpful to me. I must spend some time searching for some.

If anyone in Australia knows of a decent independent manga shop can you pass on the details to me? :)

My main source of books is kinokuniya in Sydney but they only stock new stuff, booktopia and book depository which sell a bit more stuff but mostly recent releases.

The search goes on :)

What. Kinokuniya is one of the better ones, I'd kill to have them set up shop here. Give me a good excuse to actually learn Japanese too.

But yeah, good luck with your search, I'd expect there to be a bunch more over in Sydney. Only two in my city; one of them is a comic book store and the other is somewhat dedicated but small.

Oh nothing against Kinokuniya at all, I've bought most of my stuff from them. They are great for new / popular stuff.

I'd love to find a decent second hand manga store. There is one in Sydney but it's mostly Japanese language manga.

I'm quite late to manga so I see a lot of people's collections and they have great manga that's not in print or impossible to find :) I'd love to have some of that stuff in my collection.
