its a tricky subject indeed. on one hand, we do have choice, but those choices are predetermined by our knowledge on a subject/the way we've been set up biologically to be. on the other hand, it doesn't make those choices any less real. I tend not to question it to much/dwell on the ifs and ands about it. we are who we are, and complaining about it or contemplating it doesn't change that fact so you might as well just try and live reguardless of the implications.

though my point of contention with the argument is we don't have "free" will but rather "predetermined" will. though a contradiction, that's just the way it is. we can make choices that go against our best intrest, sure, or any choice for that matter. but its the road we've trav eled that determines the choices we'll make. though it is fun to concemplate what it truly means to be "free"

I see what you mean, the serie got me confused after 10 or so years were suppose to pass in the Tsuneki part... since then I dropped it for a while and just re-started it from where I left.

5 years. And nah, there are other things. The whole thing with the first arc was that he wasn't assertive enough to put his foot down, but also at the same time the situation felt slightly arbitrary, but I guess it was realistic? in a sense. Anyway, that specifically wasn't my main issue.

In fact it's not that anything was super horrible (apart from strange dialogue choices or something else I must have erased) but rather that a lot of it fell rather flat towards the middle. "Yes, this is an event that is happening" and not much more weight to it. So by the end it I was watching it for the sake of watching it.

One point of interest was probably the choice to not air Tooru's arc first, rearranging the timeline so you're introduced to Shou when he's at a low point (shit grades from all the gaming), and then you can build him up. So I guess it's a nice thing to see the continuity as he changes through the year.
