The SE moon seems like a hint in that direction (especially because FF usually had a normal moon), but it just might be an easter egg. If we go tinfoil though, the FF-world clearly is SE's sun, and the eight divisions were reincarnated into the eight Great Old Ones o.o

I feel like the foreshadowing he got ever since his introduction went to sink, specifically with the whole AfO and being a relative of a successor.
If you are going to have your villain "Break", at least develop it a little more. In his whole flashback we just see "Oh I love heroes!!!". Sure he had an abusive father, but I don't think that justifies the "Oh now I hate EVERYTHING" to "I actually had a thing to being evil deep inside!" in just 2 chapters.
