Hey OMF! How is it going?
Looks like I find I finally got my chance on Question Time! It's great to have finally gotten this opportunity and I would like to thank all the people who voted for me. Without you, I would be here today.
Greatest pet peeves?
If you could have the attention of the entire world, and I mean every human, for just ten minutes. What would you say?
Worst nightmare during your childhood?
If you could give your twelve year old self any sort of advice, what would it be?
-Someone interrupts me while I am talking: I get really annoyed by this. One time is fine, several times in succession and you will see me blow a fuse. A similar thing happened last week in class. Thankfully, that doesn't happen on the internet unless you are doing a voice chat.
-The 'Oh my god! Why haven't you see ::insert the latest mainstream book/movie/tv shows::!' remark. That one is particularly annoying. I watch and read plenty of things, thank you! I just don't have time for your fandom.
-Then there is stuff that's part of the package of being a comic book fan:
*Implying that dark, gritty and realistic superhero stories with purely cynical ideas are the only acceptable superhero stories. I love Batman: Year One, The Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Broken City, I like dark stories but I don't want all of the comics to be done like that. I was a balance.
*Any remark along the lines of 'X is the one true version of a character'; 'Barry Allen is the one true Flash!', 'Hal Jordan is the one true Green Lantern!' and 'Barbara Gordon is the one true Batgirl!' just for starters.
* I also tend to get really, really annoyed when people claim that Superman is outdated, unrelatable and unrealistic. When someone remarks that there is no way that anyone could have all the powers that he does and still be a descent human being, I think that says more about themselves than the character. I am not the biggest fan of Superman but I can understand what he is about and what he represents. I am fine if someone doesn't like the character because the character doesn't fit their tastes and preferences but don't come at me with the unrealistic crap or I will smack you like this:
The same applies for Captain America too (unless it's Bucky under the costume).
2) Well, that one has sort of happened already.
See the petition on my sig? Avaaz picked up on it, e-mailed all their members and started their own petition that has a reached a whopping 2 million signatures and calling for a tourism boycott.
The matter became bigger than it was already:
And it looks as though change is underway:
Of course, what this means for future cases like this remains to be seen but I am hoping that this situation is resolved soon and the victim gets some justice in the end.
My part in this whole affair remains anonymous (No one knows that I was the one who brought Avaaz's attention and that I was the who got them in touch with the feminists and news paper outlets here) like Jimmy Olsen who signals Superman with his signal watch or the Phantom Stranger who shows up to help people in crisis but only a handful believe he even exists.
However, if I was found out and that somehow gets the attention of the world, I would just reiterate the petition objective and end it by showing my big fat middle finger to all the crazy sheikhs and clerics in this country.
3) I have had some terrible nightmares in the past but the one that freaked me out the most was the one where I watched a baby mutilate itself. Somehow according to dream world logic, if the baby lifts it's right arm, it will start tear itself apart. So here I was, 11 years old telling the kid to stop. I have no idea what triggered the dream, usually there is something in real life that a dream can be traced back to but I don't remember anything remotely similar to that happening.
Thankfully, most dreams I have involve solving some kind of quest:
-'You are a secret agent on a futuristic plane and the world looks like a cartoon from the 80's! Your job is to save all the passengers from Robocop-look-a-likes with nothing but your bare hands!'
-Then there was this one lucid dream; 'You are in a dream world! Run to the portal located in your school to make it back to the real world! It's also raining and don't get in to a car, they have force field on them that send you flying backwards if you get too close'. I cheated by running at the cars and being 'blown back' to the waking world.
4) I would tell him to study business and not science. Furthermore, study art. There are other personal stuff but I don't want to repeat that here.
Kazekage, are you a gaara fan?
Well, I was when I joined the site. I am not sure how I feel about him now given how Kishi retconned his back story. Also he has become kind of sappy since his re-appearance in the 5 Kages arc.
Are you rich? (over a million?)
Are you depressed?
Are you an attention *****?
Are you powerful?
No to all four questions.
More answers after the break.
