I never really liked Tenchi Muyo. Even when I was younger, I tried to get into it, but I never understood it much.

It was meant to be weird

Mate, I know it was meant to be weird. I just couldn't enjoy it.

Only complaint I'd really have is the bandits and how out of place they look, from the few times I've bothered with Samurai 7.

It's supposed to demonstrate that the Samurai Bushido is dead and that more people are willing to sacrifice hard work and skill for easy access to power as symbolized by robotic bodies.

It's not that they're mechanized, just the way it looks.

No, the bandits literally turned themselves into robots.

....

Again, that is not the problem. I understand all that. Not sure how to make it any clearer when I say the problem I had was how they looked. From the Mobile suits, to the fodder and their mother ship.

Yes I know its one of the weirdest harem series ever made especially if you look at the originals where it gets really squick like and not very pleasant to think about.

There's that too. I don't like harems all that much.

wow what a great topic!

I don't like the current line-up. (*cough* I don't have cable television*cough*) But the 'old school' toonami back in the day was awesome. There was:

1. dragonball z

2. tenchi muyo - original

3. sailor moon

4. gundam wing

Pretty much the years from 1998-2001 were the best.

I remember coming home immediately after school just to catch Toonami. I even watched Sailor Moon.

Sailor Moon isn't just for girls after all.

It was all about DBZ for me. My brother and I were big time fans. I watched some of the other shows, but for me Toonami and Dragonball Z will always be used in the same sentence.

Same, but I was more into Gundam Wing and G Gundam. I remember playing with my toys and creating my own scenarios, ha ha.

I do agree that the very big ones look a little funky (looks like the mechs from Vandread) and rather useless at times, but eh you learn to deal with it. Though honestly I think it might have been a bit better if they were just limited to those more humanoid mech bodies than the huge clunky looking ones.

Aside from that everything is well done and really enjoyable in terms of characters, plot, etc.

Show me the way to go home - I'm tired and I want to go to bed
I had a little drink about an hour ago - And it’s gone right to my head
Wherever I may roam - On land or sea or foam
You can always hear me singing this song
Show me the way to go home.

I could never forgive Katsushiro for what he did.
