More than enough material to do up 2-cours, currently.

Sad to say we may never see a S2; regardless of sales or/& popularity.

Yeah, just like with Mouretsu, it's a shame that there was never a second season.  Instead, Mouretsu went the movie route...

We haven't even heard anything more about Hataraku, but it was also a one cour show from the start, and a lot of the long LNs get two cours from the start, which was worrying for Hataraku's future from the beginning.

Nowadays, studios tend to shun away 2-cour projects, due to high costs (making a single episode is not as cheap as one perceives it to be) & difficulty in implementing source material over a longer stretch. Moreover, the fear of the anime not faring well as expected is always there; novels that consistently hog the top of the sales chart (SAO, TAMNI, Mahouka, etc) don't suffer that sort of 'stigma'.

Moreover, LN-anime adaptations primarily serves as an advertisement/promo for it; whether or not it warrants a second season hinges on many factors, be it the tangibles/intangibles.

Oh, I know.  That's been the case for nigh-on 7-8 years now, although it really started only coming into play for almost every show like 4-5 years ago.

Mouretsu did get two cours, however, and then only an immediate movie announcement.

LN-anime adaptations are also for merchandise purposes, plus it's starting to help sell stuff in the West.  For example, before SAO came out, it wasn't that popular in the West for obvious reasons (a lot of people don't read LNs, and official translations aren't technically available).  However, you've seen the boom in the US, and other countries, for example.  You're not an American, but not that long after SAO ended, a dub of SAO ended up on Adult Swim.

Death Note and Code Geass are probably the only other shows that immediately ended up on American tv in the same way.  Well, obviously Bleach did, and there were somewhat visible (I never saw them, but I don't enjoy either series) badly done Naruto and OP dubs on like Saturday morning tv.

One of the main reasons why SAO proved to be such a success in the US is due to the massive online gaming culture/following there; not to mention its otaku-pandering/wish-fulfillment themes.

Of course, you guys were quick to capitalize on this & the rest as they say, is history.

CR servers totally crashed when GGO aired, which again highlights the unwavering craze that the fandom still has.

Ahh.. nice, but it'll be more appropriate posting it in the Mahouka thread. :P

Can you still remember what happens in the end?

I seem to have forgotten, but which pairing do you fervently ship?

There's only one pairing in Hataraku, unless you want to ship Maou and his loyal companion. :P

If you're talking Mouretsu, the only pairing is Jenny and her girlfriend, but it's not a series about romance at all.

If you're talking about Mahouka, I support Mayumi over Miyuki.  I think that we'll get some form of strange ending in Mahouka, although I think Mayumi will be the official ending, but it won't be that simple.

It's better that they do not put their filthy hands on my Queen.

Its a shame the current doujins of her are sub-standard, at best; Emi's are a whole lot better.

But dayum, what an awesome Waifu she'd make.

>you will never hear her saying 'Okaeri!' once you come home from tired from work

>you will never enjoy the delicious & sumptuous meal that she whips after you've showered

>you will never have your laundry properly done & prepared for the next day

>you will never have loving & passionate sex with her every night

>you will never hear her whisper "Ai. Shi. Teru" into your ears

The 3DPD world is cruel & suffering.

White Fox needs money now that AgK flopped. What are they even working on next?

Its not White Fox's decision, Blink.

Dengeki hold the key to that.

I don't know what to think about Akame ga Shit, honestly.

Perhaps it should never have gotten an anime adaptation.

I read that Emilia eventually starts to develop feelings for the Devil (in the novels)... Odd considering their past experiences, mixed with the fact that he basically ruined her life.

The announcement caused several online translators to drop it, which means I'll have to wait to see what happens next... The good news is that Volume 3, which picks off right where the anime left off, is still available for reading.
