haven't done one of these in a few weeks...

1) You are driving down the road, minding your own business, not really paying attention. Then you hear the whirr of a siren, there is a police car behind you, gesturing for you to pull over... What do you think the reason is that he is he pulling you over?

2) You are in an aeroplane, minding your own business, not really paying attention... actually dozing off a little. Suddenly, the plane shakes with turbulence, and wakes you out of your sleep. You look around the cabin, and no one is there, Sure, there is a half eaten meal beside you, still steaming hot... the drinks trolley crashes into the wall with a loud crash, the place seems like people were just there, that everyone vanished. A sickening feeling comes over you, and you get out of your seat and rush the cockpit to find it empty, both controls broken, the altimeter, ticking downwards, ever so slowly... you are crashing. You look around in panic, and find a parachute hanging on the wall, a chance to escape! But, you don't know where you will land... if it is the sea, the land, or a deserted desert island, with conspiracy abound. What will you gather which you can reasonably find on hand in an aeroplane's cabin, and that you can easily carry?

3) Greg is going away on holiday, and gives you temp ownership of the One Manga forum. What is the first thing you would do?

4) Which major Shounen manga should I pick up again from the list of the ones I have dropped for whatever reason out of Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail; and why? Or if you say none, then why?

5) What is the one Manga would you suggest everyone must read before they die?

Well, well!  Another fellow Jerseyian is up at bat, which, me thinks, is a good reason as any to break a hiatus from work and such~

1.  Where have you been/lived at in Jersey?  (No need to include home town or current town if that's too private for you, of course).  Explain why you were in those cities, and what you enjoyed/disliked about them (this is similar to Candles' question but not quite).

2.  What nations would you aspire to visit for the sake of potentially living there?

3.  Any cultures that fascinate you in a positive or exciting way?  Explain.  Also, the same but in a negative or despairing way.

4.  What topics would you like to see in the debate forum more often?

5.  Describe your history in debate, official or not (ex. mock trial, debate team, student government, law/constitution competitions, etc.).

6.  Any OMF members you look up to or admire certain characteristics?

7.  Any OMF members you'd love to meet in real life?  What would you do with them? (Can be generic answer for the second, if no answer is given for the first).

8.  What political/economic philosophy do you most despair at, and why?

9.  You are tasked with convincing a convocation of 10 of the great developing nations in the world (say, for example, China, India, Russia, Brazil, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, South Africa, etc.) to adopt measures to shift their policies away from fossil fuels and environmentally harmful practices, and more towards a sustainable engineering paradigm.  Describe what basic points you would use, and what opposition you expect to receive (bonus points if you manage to construct retorts to said opposing views).

10.  You're a classical liberal (in the spirit of Mills and such).  You have a day with Xi Jinping (the current General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, i.e. Obama's counterpart), and you're tasked with convincing him of the virtues of the classical liberal spirit, and, generally, individualism, and how it should benefit China's socio-political culture if they shifted towards this, at least in theory.

What are your selling points, what are possible counters, and, again bonus points, any counter-counter points?

11.  It's about 100 years in the future, and we're able to modify the human genome to pin point accuracy.  We are now able to actively modify the structure of a person at the organ level--including the brain.  Given that this data is out there, you are commissioned to pin point 10 potential areas of abuse where government regulation of use of this science should be considered.  Outline these areas, as well as possible policies to act upon these potential danger areas.

12.  Since the late 1980s, there has been an explosion of quantitative analysis in financial modeling, ranging from predicting the stock market, to economic policy.  There are movements within Washington that aim to empower the Fed, Treasury, SEC, etc. to have more sophisticated tools to obtain and utilize financial market data, for the purpose of better policy decisions.  What do you see, ultimately, is the role of fancy math and statistics in the place of economic policy and financial planning?  Will we ever reach the point of quantification such that global economics be reducible to an agent based computer model?

13.  What do you see as the ideal role of the financial system in the world, if any at all?  If you did postulate an ideal, how does that deviate from what we have now, and how would you propose the current system change (realistically speaking) to reach that ideal?

If you didn't have a role for financial system at all, what would take its place?

14.  Should there be a central bank?  Why or why not?

15.  Should there be a gold standard?  Why/why not?

16.  Would you date somebody who was of the gender you are not naturally attracted to, even if they had the most alluring personality you've ever met?

17.  The same as #16, except that the person was, not only of the gender you are not attracted to, but, rather, was a transgender of the gender you are attracted to (i.e., assuming you are a hetero male, we'd be talking about a male to female transgender).

18.  Would you ever consider polygamy, for either yourself, or your child, if the child asked you about it?

Hmm, I'm short 7 from the max limit, but I think these should be hefty enough to make up for that~

1/ What is the story behind your username?
2/ What is it about OMF that keeps you here?
3/ How does a normal night spent with your friends usually go?
4/ How would you describe yourself in 10 words?
5/ How would you describe yourself in 100 words?

1. Back in 2004, much like the other stupid children, I got into the hottest MMORPG at the time, known as RuneScape. While my entire class was busy killing cows, making money, and gaining levels, I was the vain person who sat for hours behind the sign-in screen, wondering what to call my character. Eventually, I settled with ‘Phenomiracle,’ resolving my fourth-grade logic to fuse ‘phenomenon’ and ‘miracle’ together. I’ve used that name for everything ever since. And I mean everything. A simple Google search (Don’t do it) should let you know what I’ve been up to.

2. The yummy people. The friends I’ve made, the discussions I’ve read. Also, while I enjoyed 2.0 (I’m one of the newer people, joined up in summer of 2012), the smaller community here makes me feel much more at home.

3. With very close friends: dinner at a fancy restuarant, a visit to the mosque if we're feeling religious, and then video games/movie at one of our houses. Relatively quiet for a normal night.

4. Ah, the ten word question. See the 100 word answer.

5. A nineteen-year-old power-hungry selfish fool who needs a hard smack upside the head, my dad says. All in all, I'm a middle child in a large family who expects much from self and others. Aside from my own goals, I seek to please others who please me, to offer generosity and kindness to those who don't know me, to learn from those who inspire me, and occasionally scratch my head along the way.

Meh. 73 words. But it's enough.

The phenomenal Phenomiracle finally gets his own thread http://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xe...

Have a few questions here for you bro, if you don't feel like answering feel free to ignore http://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xe...

1) Fav aspect of your personality?

2) Least fav aspect of your personality?

3) Fav part of your body?

Good ol' Joe. We should talk moar.

1. Motivation. My desire for success keeps me waking at 6 am every day.

2. Rudeness. As most people up here already know, I'm quick to resorting to a caustic and belittling tone in my posts. I would try to adjust, but I really can't be Sev or soccerislife type nice. Doesn't fit my persona too well.

3. My legs. Years of martial arts, football training, and freerunning have done them well. My face is a very close second.

4. A Few Good Men, Die Hard: With a Vengeance, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Props to you if you can sit through the last one without crying.

5. First: OMF's resident thug
Current: The demigod every boy must hold a ten minute conversation with in order for him to finish his growth to manhood

1. Standing height? :hurr:

2. First and current impressions of me?

3. What kind of music do you usually listen to?

4. Guilty pleasures?

1. Don’t know whether to be pleased you remembered or to question your priorities.

5’10”. Same as Spamamdorf, Sev, Acidrain, Raiden, and Scorpion2k4u. I'm slightly taller than The Witcher, and slightly shorter than RamenRenegade. I ask people their height because I'd like to imagine interacting with them while we stand. Nice to have a mental image. Knowing what they look like in real life helps plenty.

2. First: Forum socialite, probably a dummy
Current: Astute, witty, and highly entertaining to interact with and observe. Still a dummy tho.

3. Tracks of all types, from video game/anime OST to movie scores. I love listening that emotionally moves me, whether its through sadness, anger, or excitement. Basil Poledaris's Riders of Doom is the best piece of movie orchestra ever composed.

Though I would be remiss to say that I don't enjoy listening to one or two Hindi songs from now and then. Ye Ishq Hai takes the cake here. So f**king catchy, even though I don't understand some of it.

4. Nintendogs, back in the day. I was the only one in my family and circle of friends who spent hours interacting with my virtual dog. Sold that ***** eventually, but it was fun while lasted. Currently, it'd be Clannad (in the VN), reading the occasional fanfic.

Oh, and Armin Arlert's hairstyle.

tumblr_mqz06zZGEv1r8c4p2o1_500.gif

Just look at it. Flowing so majestically. It's a statement in itself, something so glorious existing in a world full of darkness.

haven't done one of these in a few weeks...

1) You are driving down the road, minding your own business, not really paying attention. Then you hear the whirr of a siren, there is a police car behind you, gesturing for you to pull over... What do you think the reason is that he is he pulling you over?

5) What is the one Manga would you suggest everyone must read before they die?

Nice to know that I inspired you into asking questions again.

1. Not stopping at stop sign, or a seatbelt. From past experience, though, I'd settle for telling the officer I simply skivved the stop sign. Back when I was 17, my smartass told the cop that I wasn't wearing my seatbelt, when he had originally stopped me for skipping a stop sign. Got ticketted for both.

2. A few forks and knives, two water bottles, a change of clothes, one snack, and a blanket. Armed with that, I'd take whatever God has to throw at me.

3. I'd ask Greg a few pointers and tips on how to manage this site before he leaves, and just follow up on his advice. As much flack as people give this site, I believe it runs remarkably well. There isn't anything I'd like to change.

4. Fairy Tail on a conditional return. While the other two have hit severe downhill trends with small recoveries here and there, Fairy Tail has remained quite consistent. It's got plenty of problems, hell yes. But if you enjoy the characters and simply lost faith in some level of depth in the plot (of which I have), you'd certainly like coming back. Oh, and the events in concurrent chapters clearly point to Fairy Tail being on a strong track to being the most engrossing of the three.

5. Mirai Nikki. Oh, dear me. I read this manga during my family trip to Halifax, and I have never been more impressed by any other story. The way Yuki was hammered throughout the entirety of the story, whether it be through the sudden deaths of his parents, to the conspiracies he encounters nearly every chapter made his seemingly sissy persona look truly heroic. Also, there wasn't a single character I disliked.

1. If you could bring to life 5 women or men from manga, anime, comics, etc: who'd they be?

2. What universe would you want to migrate too if you had the power to do so, and why?

3. Is there anyone in the whole world you want to just walk up to and slap the hell out of?

4. If you could look an be like any character or person, who would they be and why?

5. Say you got marooned on an alien planet and the only inhabitants were Anthropomorphic Animal like beings; if you had a choice what kinda animal would you prefer them being an why?

1. Link, from The Legend of Zelda. I'd lock him inside of my room until he can hold an hour long conversation with me.
Armin Arlert from SnK, to teach me how to wear his hairstyle. I'm obsessed with it. I've had dreams of me rocking it.
Sasuke Uchiha, so I can slap his adorable Uchiha face silly.
Nana from Elfen Lied, so I can adopt her.
Uryuu Minene from Mirai Nikki. She could blow me up any time.

2. Thank your avatar for this one. A:TLAB, purely so I could observe warfare. We got little taste of how huge battles with massive numbers of benders could have gone, and I was disappointed in that.

3. Nope. Such a puny display of fury would probably flatter more than insult the person I feel distasteful towards.

4. Byakuya Kuchiki. The man is the definition of manly beauty.

5. Since we're talking purely aesthetics here, I'd say some species in the felidae family. Cat faces are amusing and terrifying at the same time.

1. Top 10 manga in terms of quality? In terms of how much you enjoy them? Which one is the closest to an ideal, perfect manga in your opinion?
2. 5 best manga that you would recommend to people? Sort of like ''everyone needs to read this once in their life'' level (may or may not be in question1)
3. 5 male manga characters and 5 female manga characters you love most?
4. Top 5 manga characters in terms of character development, depth and literary value?
5. Do you read all of Big3? If yes, top 5 characters in each?
6. 3 Favorite power/ability in manga?
12. Back to manga: Best 3 couples in manga? (in shounen and seinen)

Expect a few overlaps.

1.
Spoiler

I'd enjoyed reading through every one of these immensely, though a few did drag at times (Death Note comes to mind). Mirai Nikki comes closest to perfect.

2. Fairy Tail: For its well-written comedic lightheartedness. FMA, Death Note, xxxHolic, and Ao No Exorcist.

3. Watanuki Kimihiro from xxxHolic, Gray Fullbuster from Fairy Tail, Shanks from One Piece, Light Yagami from Death Note, and Byakuya Kuchiki from Bleach.

4. Itachi Uchiha from Naruto, Edward Elric from FMA, Ace from One Piece, Minene Uryuu from Mirai Nikki. Can't think of three others who struck a significant amount of depth, so I'll leave it there.

5. Yes, I read the Big 3, but I only started One Piece a month ago. I have much to catch up on. As such, I'll omit it.

Spoiler

6. Fairy Law from Fairy Tail. Just so I can hear the OST play while I render judgement with this spell.
Vectors from Elfen Lied.
Shinra Tensei from Naruto.

12. Roy x Riza from FMA, Kouta x Kaede from Elfen Lied, Marco x Ai from Mirai Nikki.

7. What do you seek in an ideal lover/life partner? In a best friend?
8. Ideal date?
9. What would you change about yourself if you were reborn?
10. What is your favorite subject in school/uni? Is it also the subject you're best at?
11. Your dream career? How does it help better yourself and how you influent/help people with it (if you want to)?

7. I have what I seek in a lover. Someone to keep my grounded in my ambition, someone to make sure I retain my humanity. In a best friend, I seek someone who I can exchange banter for hours and ask about private matters with the utmost confidence.

8. Dinner at a fancy restaurant, then a movie at home. If the movie sucks, we'll quit and play some Mario Kart.

9. Assuming that I have the self-conscience to "change" something about my personality by considering my experiences in my past life, I'd like to be much less of a crybaby. I cried on the first days of kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade.

10. History. I'm excellent on memorization, so it is my best. I also enjoy reading tales of humanities' woes.

11. Working as a CIO in a company. Getting to that position requires leadership, cunning, and good communication skills. Going the easy route here: I'll obviously have much more money to spend on charity and such. I can use my position to inspire more young Americans to study technology.

1. Which field of applied science do you see being the most influential to humanity over the next century and what advances do you realistically expect to take place in that field?

2. What is one of your best memories from childhood?

3. Is there anything currently illegal that you think should be legal or vice versa? If so what are they?

4. How close are your zodiac and chinese zodiac descriptions to being accurate?

5. If you were in a talent show what talent would you display?

Split this up, I must. Don't want to torment readers with scroll-ups and downs.

1. Engineering of all kinds. Mankind is facing a dearth of new problems, and the answer to all of these, as proven through history, is expanded creativity and understanding of fundamental mathematical concepts.

2. The summer of '97 to the spring of '98. My father took all of us (two older sisters, one little brother, and my mother) along on his business trip across East Asia. I have no idea why, and I have no idea how my mom managed four kids while my dad was off on work. All I can remember is the blast I had with my older sister having pillow fights in the hotel room, dancing to some Indian music, swimming, playing tag in the park, etc...

Those were some good times.

3. Yes. Marijuana, for starters. Its legalization would make our government's joint effort with its Mexican counterpart to crack down on drug cartels a lot more sense and productive.

4. Frighteningly accurate. I don't follow the Chinese Zodiac.

5. Memorization is my best talent. I'm not sure of the proper way to display such a talent.

6. What are the traits that you think most women find most attractive in yourself? Why?
Least attractive? Why?

7. Favorite and least favorite things about New Jersey?

8. If you were President (and had full cooperation from Congress) what steps would you take to fix the economy and reduce the deficit?

9. What are three things you want to do before you die and what do you think are the chances you'll get to do any of them?

10. What is your favorite vacation that you have been on and what would be a dream vacation for you?

6. Most attractive: Looks and humor.
Least attractive: Short-temperedness, impatience.

7. Favorite: Our governor. While his style does come across as bullying to a few, Chris Christie is a true Jersey fellow. He speaks very candidly, and doesn't engage in bullsh*t talk.
Least Favorite: Most of our cities are in terrible condition.

8. -Cut military spending by a sizable amount.
-End federally financed student loans
-Cut spending for plenty of social programs
-Seek to simplify our tax code
-Lower the corporate tax rate. People dispute on what the true rate is, but the nominal rate of 35% is insane.
-End our involvement in nonsensical wars and bring all of our troops home
-Use diplomacy as first resort in international conflict
-Seek to get rid of most federal regulations enforced on businesses
-Seek to abolish the Federal Reserve

9. Get married, properly raise my children, watch those children get married and have children. Barring the other two, I have a strong likelihood of accomplishing the first goal. Despite whatever I am able to accomplish, there will always be someone seeking to dismantle what I've created. My children, and my children's children will be the legacy that would see to making sure that my achievements would last in a realm beyond mere memory.

10. Answered this in question 2. I'd love to observe the majestic scenery in Northern Europe. The phenomena known as the Midnight Sun and the Polar Night would be fantastic to experience. The Norwegian city of Tromso would be a perfect place.

11. How much of a person's personality and temperament do you think is determined by their enviornment (ie. culture, state, or familial influences) and how much is determined by their biological makeup (ie. genetics, neurobiological structure, etc.) and what do you make of the phenomena that may be a combination of both (ie. epigentics or brain plasticity)?
12. What extra-curricular activities did you participate in during high school and what was you opinion of them?

13. What is your favorite type of cuisine (Italian, Chinese, French, etc.) and what are some of your favorite foods?

14. Which school of Economic thought is closest to your viewpoint between the Keynesian, Austrian, and Chicago economics?

15. What's your favorite novel and who is your favorite author?

11. I'm a behaviorist. I believe all elements of an individual's personality are shaped by external influences. I am not aware of such a new venture in brain psychology, so I cannot comment on it. At most, I can say it does reek of attempting to find excuses for human behavior aside from structural brain deformities that may or may not lead to abnormal behavior.

12. High school football, I played cornerback. The intense training made me a better person, and talking smack with opposing receivers who were larger than me (up to 6'2") was thrilling. I really didn't have time for other things, aside from sitting in a few Technology Club events.

13. I haven't tried much ethnic food, to be honest. All I've had is Indian and Chinese, the former of which I enjoy. Love spices.

14. If it wasn't already obvious my previous response, I learn toward Austrian economics, but I am largely undecided.

15. I don't read many novels. Tom Clancy is pretty cool, though. The film Clear and Present Danger inspired me to read the original book. Great read.

16. What are your cosmological views of the universe?
17. How fast can you solve a rubik's cube?

18. You're taking a two week road trip and you can bring any two people along with you, (dead or alive, real or fictional), who are they and why them?

19. What was the worst date you've ever been on?

20. Where do you think we go when we die and how does that affect your view of life?

21. If you could have dinner with any three polymaths who would you choose and what would you converse about?

22. If I were to give you a massive amount of money with the stipulation that you had to give at least half of it to a charitable cause, what would you donate the money towards?

16. I believe in God, so I do espouse a religious cosmological view. While our goal (as I understand it) is to establish a spiritual link with God by symbolizing cosmological elements, I have never quite cared for it.

17. I have never solved a rubix cube. Two sides is my best.

18. My older sister and my SO. It'd be a nice way to resolve the tension between them.

19. I've enjoyed every single date I've been on, due to my meticulous planning. Rather difficult to say which one I enjoyed the least.

20. We rot in our graves. While in our graves, we are shown both the events in our lives, our fate in the hereafter, and questioned by God on what we have accomplished in our lives. Those who have lived righteous lives will feel this time go by very quickly, while those who were truly evil will experience time in extreme longevity.

Motivates me to being the most productive and pure-hearted human being I could possibly be.

21. Only know of one, unfortunately: Abu Sahl al-Quhi. I'd love to know how he developed his theory on gravity.

22. Investing in more effective treatments for cancer, since a cure is a near impossibility.

how many times have you looked at my posts and reacted with http://www.lolbrary.com/content/78/lol-w...

Nearly every time. Your sentences are jumbled in a large paragraph, and that paragraph requires some extensive attentive reading to simply comprehend, a problem most other posts here don't have.

Nevertheless, you do make legitimate points from time to time. You're largely inconsistent in that regard.

m1hawkbro and soccerislife, your inquiries will be answered next time.

That concludes the first shop tour.

Until next time...

3. Watanuki Kimihiro from xxxHolic, Gray Fullbuster from Fairy Tail, Shanks from One Piece, Light Yagami from Death Note, and Byakuya Kuchiki from Bleach.

What about top 5 female characters?

2. Fairy Tail: For its well-written comedic lightheartedness. FMA, Death Note, xxxHolic, and Ao No Exorcist.

You think Mirai Nikki comes closest to perfect but did not recommend it? Is it because it's very unique in some way hence hit-or-miss type of manga? Cause I've seen people praising this manga and I plan to read it, too.

So twenty more questions... I will just ask five more, and base the next fifteen on the result of this five

6. Thanks to your good management of the One Manga forums, Greg nominates you for Evil Tyrant of the Earth, a position that the Super Villain Association of America fully endorses. Now the world has you in its site as potential world conqueror, even if you didn't want to, and are sending super spies to slay you! You need a secret underground lair in which to hide, and plot your eventual takeover of earth with the help of the SVAA. Where will you build your lair of villainy, and why choose that location?

7. So you parachute down, and land in a desert. You only have what you gathered with you when the plane crashed. You climb a small dune nearby, which gives you a clear view of the surrounds, nothing but sandy desert... There is no debris of the plane anywhere to be seen, it vanished just as the people vanished. So, you must go walk and try and find civilization. How would you go about finding Civilization and getting yourself rescued?

8. So that cop that pulled you over? Just wanted a random breath test. So you're driving again, and you feel hungry. You pull over, only to find a ten dollar note in your wallet. You are too far from home to return, you will have to have takeout. What will you have?

9. You find a briefcase leaning on a lamppost unattended by the side of the road... There is no one about, no obvious owner. What will you do?

10. Is there a Manga everyone raves about, which you cannot stand? If so, which one is it?

The Nominations for OMF Top 20 ongoing Manga for August/September are over. The results can be seen here!

It's that time again...

1. My family and I moved on the same street seven times in Harrison. We moved to North Brunswick when I turned six, and finally to an elegant estate down a town along Route 1. From what I remember, Harrison was a very friendly and warm place to live. The neighbors adored my parents, and naturally assumed my siblings and I were little angels. We moved whenever my parents decided they needed more space. Two rooms isn't enough to raise two girls and two boys.

2. South Korea, for its blend of altruistic culture and economic model of capitalism. An uncle told me of his time there during the '97 Asian Financial Crisis. SK government had apparently asked for its citizens to donate and help stabilize its shaky economy, and set up donation boxes at street corners. He saw women and men taking off their watches and jewelry, and placing them inside these boxes. Sounded quite remarkable.

3. Eastern culture fascinates me, due to its emphasis on the structure of family and the respect that elders deserve. The misogynistic elements in Arab and Indian subcontinent's cultures are quite despairing and a point of shame for me.

4. Cultural Imperialism, Human Euthanasia come to mind.

5. Football took up most of my high school career, so I did not have enough time to actively participate in debate clubs. I was a defense attorney in my middle school's mock trial team, and class representative to Student Council in my senior year.

6. I have the utmost respect for Goddess Nike for her intelligence. Very few others do come to mind, including you. A shame she doesn't post often.

7. Oh, plenty. Starting with every one in my friends' list. We'd all go for an epic of football (soccer, as we Americans call it).

8. Fiscal liberalism amuses me to no end, and the fact that its brainchildren policies are used to reel in votes since the existence of the Federal Reserve allows for out of control government spending is very, very disheartening.

9. Points against the burning of fossil fuels:

-Harmful to environment in both short and long-term

-The rate of depletion of natural resources climbs in correlation with the insane amount of demand

-Profitability in investing in renewable energy (weakest argument)

I expect the usual arguments of high intermittency and low productivity, which would lead to higher energy costs.

10. I'm more of a neo-classical liberal, but nevertheless:

-Limited government incentivizes business growth. Businesses are allowed to freely compete with one another to offer the best   products at lower prices. Competition within an industry also promotes efficient innovation, which in turn benefits the consumer. Every one wins.

-Any other philosophy that doesn't entail the free market element of classical liberalism espouses the ideology that an entity (i.e. government) is capable of assuming what products at certain prices are best for people, which is inherently wrong. Utility is immeasurable, and assuming such would simply cause uproar among the public in the long term.

-The system of meritocracy that is born from the rise and function of the free market is the most morally upright and functional, as it encourages smart and hard-working people to actively pursue their goals in industries, leading to new product ideas and the prevention of stagnation within society. Education is valued as highly as the success that it guarantees.

There are many, many, many more, but I'll settle with these three for now.

Possible counters:

-Companies can exploit consumers through false advertising

-The disabled, minorities, and untrained people are left to suffer, since they are weak economic actors

-Government should be allowed to dictate the standard price of living to prevent the free market from exploiting the populace

Counters to counters:

-Consumers are free to speak out about products they purchase, which puts companies under strict public scrutiny, forcing them to tell the truth about their products and thus, create the best products at lower costs to prevent competing companies from stealing customers

-These groups have the ability to work for lower wages, which, under a free market, would be more than enough for them to survive. Government mandates on wages would force small businesses to resort to layoffs, which increases the unemployment rate and de-incentizes growth of businesses, enabling the bigger corporations in an industry to oligopolize.

-Apart from the problem I delineated in the second counter, somewhere along the line, a politician will gain power through his/her promises that he/she will raise the standard price of living. Aside from the potential dishonesty that arises from this, the only way for such a welfare standard to be raised in a fiscally responsible (which America isn't) nation would be to raise taxes, which is ultimately damaging upon the very populace said government is trying to assist.

11. Much too tired to outline the danger areas. Instead, I'll point to policies.

-The sharing of an individual's genome between two separate private entities must be done with said individual's consent.

-A private entity with genome ownership must disclose any and all information that they have learned from an individual's genome to said individual.

-A private entity with genome ownership must inform individuals of tests it seeks to conduct on their genome.

-A federal inspector will be present to preside over these passes of intellectual property

Of course, there is plenty of danger with that last one.

12. Ultimately, I feel that a solid model is not attainable, simply due to the fact that utility is largely immeasurable. We can slap a value on the happiness we feel a consumer is getting, but that does not make it any more truthful. At most, a quantifiable economic model can be conceptualized as it has been now, but it will be continue to be subjective for years to come.

13. The ideal role of a financial system is to offer the most amount of people happiness that operates within the parameters of self-regulated fairness. One way to do so would be to outlaw interest, and thus loans, entirely. The concept of interest is blatantly immoral, as the lender is making money out of money and not offering any product or service worthy of earning that money, to put it in middle school terms.

And of course, we all know how fantastic of a role interest plays in industries such as the housing market and student loans.

14. Yes, but it must be very careful. Very, very, very careful in its efforts to manage inflation.

15. There are problems that arise from implementing a gold standard, apart from the confusion the fixed price brings to the markets. However, it does inhibit inflation. I advocate for recognizing certain precious metals as legal tender, and utilizing those as standards.

16. I'm bi. So yes.

17. Well, since I'm bi, it hardly matters whether or not said person was transgender.

18. I...I wouldn't know, honestly. As of now, I would never consider polygamy an option, as I consider it to be antithetical to marriage entirely. But...I really wouldn't know.

Phenom. :D

1. What's the most embarrassing thing to happen to you?

2. What's the most fun thing you've ever done?

3. Any moments in your life you felt you took a huge risk? What happened?

4. Do you think a Canadian could ever rule the world?

5. If you woke up and found yourself to be an animal, which would it be and why?

6. If it was a spider and Petite found you, what would you do?

7. What's your favorite memory about Pokemon?

8. Your favorite memory about games?

9. How'd you get into games?

*salutes*

1. Forgetting verses while leading prayers. I could feel the stares of all the old men burning into my flushed face.

2. Freerunning neighborhoods with twenty other people at midnight. Also, playing laser-tag with them right afterwards.

3. Yes, with my lover. I didn't know them too well, and neither them me. We were each other's firsts, and it's almost divine how we've held up for more than five years, since we were both fourteen.

4. Only if they have lived in the United States for the majority of their life.

5. A gazelle. A majestic creature, the epitome of masculine beauty.

6. Dance in the palm of her hand for her amusement, and then dash for an escape if she tries to dress me.

7. While I've had many memories with Pokemon, the first opening theme is still my favorite.

8. My first experience with Super Smash Bros. Melee. The soundtrack blew my mind, particularly Pokemon Stadium's Theme, the choir of which raises goosebumps to this very day.

9. Summer trip to Toronto in '99. Was introduced to the N64 for the first time at a friend's house. Pulled all-nighters with my friends played Mario Party 2 and Mario Kart 64.

Upon our return home, my parents made it abundantly clear that they were not going to buy me a gaming system, and that I would have to work for it. I spent a year trying to earn enough money shoveling driveways, watching pets, and selling candy to dumb rich kids. With my older sister pitching in, I finally purchased a Nintendo 64 and a copy of Zelda: Majora's Mask. After doing some more work, I earned enough to buy Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

The rest is history, my friend.

What about top 5 female characters?

You think Mirai Nikki comes closest to perfect but did not recommend it? Is it because it's very unique in some way hence hit-or-miss type of manga? Cause I've seen people praising this manga and I plan to read it, too.

1. Yuuko from xxxHolic, Uryuu Minene from Mirai Nikki, Juvia Lockser from Fairy Tail, Riza Hawkeye from FMA, Kaede from Elfen Lied

2. It's a hit-or-miss. I've seen plenty of people complain that the female lead's personality was enough for them to drop it. While I found her lovably insane, she has a central role in the story. If you don't like her, chances are you won't like this manga.

6. Once I forcibly take control of the United States government, I would establish a safe haven at the Pentagon, employing SVAA army as my personal bodyguards. I wait until the Assassin or Templar comes to inevitably take my life, but long after I begin my campaign of destruction upon all foreign governments.

7. Nothing to do asides from starting a long trek to either salvation or death.

8. Two full bottles of water, which fills the stomach quite nicely. I can bear to wait for proper food.

9. Open it. Place three thousand pictures of Nicholas Cage inside, and close it. Tape a note to the cover that says "I'm watching you."

10. Cowboy Bebop. Got bored of it very quickly, but I can see how people appreciate Spike Spiegel.

Hey Pheno~

1. I know there was already a question about your favourite novel, but as a whole what are your favourite books (except manga)?

2. What era in history do you like the most? Do you think you'd have liked living in that era?

3. What are your five favourite moments in Fairy Tail?

4. Which debates did you like the most on OMF? (2.0 included of course)

5. After you've caught up with One Piece, which manga(s) are you considering reading?

azer~~ *glomps* <333

1. I did enjoy the Harry Potter and The Hunger Games series, as underwhelming I found the former's ending. As a younger teenager, I enjoyed fantasy, but I have moved onto reading military science novels whenever I find time.

2. The Renaissance. Would immensely enjoy living in that time period, especially when the stagnation of modern culture is more apparent than ever due to the various melting pots formed around the world.

3.

Spoiler

4. I've engaged in many two/three post exchanges, but never in true debates. The closest would be one of the times people were trying to make sense of the timelines and events during the Eclipse Arc. I've come across jomegar a few times as well.

5. I intend to catch up on Vagabond, D. Grayman, Soul Eater, and Beelzebub. Good luck me.

6. What do you dislike the most in other people?

7. What kind of little things can make you happy?

8. Would you rather have people lying to you out of kindness or being honest even if it hurts and wasn't necessary?

9. Have we ever disagreed on anything?

10. Is there any singer or band you particularly like?

6. I am disgusted by people who wallow in self-pity.

7. Witnessing a sunrise, drinking a hot beverage during heavy snowfall, making people laugh.

8. Being honest and frank. Lying out of kindness does not do one any long-term favors, while honesty helps one in becoming a person of stronger will.

9. Apart from when we first met back on 2.0, no. Great minds do think alike, my dear.

10. I adore SCANDAL.

11. What are the 3 first things coming to your mind while reading this question?

12. What is/are the worst movie(s) you've ever seen?

13. What are the last few things that made you facepalm?

14. If some kind of supernatural being was granting you answers to three questions, what would you ask?

15. Is there any philosopher or philosophy that interests you?

11. -I can't believe you wasted a question

-On second thought, it's not so bad

      -azer, just marry me already.

12. The Last Airbender, All of the Transformers movies save the first. Oh, and I was very disappointed in Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows Part 2.

13. Your eleventh question (before I quickly changed my mind), a friend texting to me his poor exam grade, and waking up this morning to find my older sister in my bed, having snuck in while I slept.

14.  -Can I be your agent?

-Tell me how I can obtain your power.

-What do you hope to accomplish with your power?

15. Karl Marx is a highly interesting nutjob; I'd love to know more about how he could have possibly rationalized his socioeconomic theories that functioned on the principles of force and destruction of meritocracy.

16. What is the most trollish thing you've ever done?

17. If you were to handle the stage direction of a famous play with OMF members as actors, which play would you choose and who would you choose as actors?

18. What are the cutest things you can think of in top of your mind?

19. Do you mind people making mistakes when they write in English on the internet?

20. Imagine a RPG with OMF members including yourself; who would you choose as the mage, the ranger, the elf, etc.?

21. F/C impressions of me?

16. Bashing God in our school's newspaper Op-ed column for kicks.

17. Let's see...Romeo and Juliet.

      -Petite Fleur as Juliet

      -Relinquisher as Romeo

      -m1hawkgsm as Friar Lawrence

      -You as the Nurse

      -Makaze as Mercutio

      -Satan as Tybalt

      -PlasmaWolf as Capulet

      -AYAME as Lady Capulet

      -Tale as Montague

      -Gnag as Lady Montague

     Broadway team, right here.

18. Wendy from Fairy Tail, my baby cousin, my cat

19. No, because I make mistakes quite often myself.

20. Taking a look at my recent visitor's list for a team: lecaros as the elven mage, m1hawkgsm as the knight, Fulmine is the archer, Makaze as the assassin, Luna as the healer.

21. First: Insightful Fairy Tail reader

Current: OMF's classiest lady, quite sagacious.

1. What scenario is your worst?
2. Who are your favourite members of OMF? List as many as you like.
3. Compare and contrast our personalities?
4. What power would you desire if you could have only one? Godmode not allowed. Why?
5. First and current impressions of me?

1. When I'm forced to choose between two people I love.

2. alekos23, azer_moli, and Sev.

3. We are both pragmatic and hold ourselves to high standards. You remain frank in discussions with those you disagree, but I am quite disparaging in mine.

4. Flight. As annoying as being wary of airspace may be, the view would almost always be glorious.

5. First: A likeable pretentious jerkass.

Current: OMF's biggest mystery. Very sharp.

Remember, extra visits to the shop will cost you, dearest lovelies...

So I have fifteen more questions to ask... I'll base the answers to the next ten of the answers to these five

11) Alas the forces of the world are besieging your evil lair at the Pentagon, the only hope you have is launching your doomsday device into space and threatening the world into submission before they break into your inner sanctum. What sort of Doomsday Device will you use?

12) You begin your long trek through the desert... almost delirious, you come across a Djinn Lamp. You pick it up, and remember tales of Djinn. There were the type that granted wishes sure, but it seemed in the old literature the majority of Djinn wished to destroy the world and everyone in it... But if it was a wish granting one, you could leave this place. Will you take the risk and open the lamp, or continue on your way?

13) So you made it home safely, and decide that, while the water kept the hunger off, you really need food. What will you make yourself?

14) You continue on your way after placing the briefcase back. Several days later, you get a letter in the mail, "I am watching you too". Who do you think sent it?

15) What do you think of XXXholic Rei?
