Spoiler Poetry StuffI did not come to watch the world end.
I shall not be responsible for the dead.
I came to force its knees to bend.
Mark these words that I have said.
I am the light in the darkest days
selling hope and putting fear on stakes
I am the one who makes sure Charon pays
for all the innocent lives he takes
I take corruption from the politician
and bring deaths hand to the tyrant
To me they sing their guilty admission
and see themselves no more as the giant
Together let us bring freedom to all.
Aloft, born by wind,
my throne, the clouds,
the horizon, my boundary,
Save for the fallow fields,
the sky-piercing mountains,
the infinite ocean,
the star-speckled heaven-
Though my shadow may grace them
My wing will never touch them-
But save for these,
I am limitless.
Slap a gun in my hands,
And you'll give me false courage to defend this you,
Wave a banner for me to match behind,
And you'll give me pride in your corrupt system,
Show me fellow men that think the same,
And you'll give me a reason to think this is right,
Feed me propaganda on things I know nothing of,
And you'll give anger in what is different,
Point me at a foe you say has wronged,
And you'll give me someone to punish in your name,
Promise me this will make my life my own,
And you'll give me a delusion to die for,
Speak of the dead as if you knew them,
And you'll give me bitterness at your position,
Keep leading us on with no end in sight,
And you'll give me rage to turn on you,
Teach me how to read,
And you'll give me a world of my own.
Spoiler Ad nauseamQuiet echoing
Breathless and beaten
Hurt and alone in
Trial and aching
Today, then tomorrow
Better safe than breaking
Spill it again
Confess and concede,
A great injustice
To probe every crevice
And seep any witness
We must consent
Tales upon tailored
Facts within fiction
Blood in the wisdom
Poison, the victim
So pray to their boredom
Your testament weakens
Freedom exists only for those who are needed, for those strong enough to hold it, or for those sheltered by the strong.
For now there is no Freedom that I can call my own
For now the cost of Freedom to my Soul, is one too high to pay
So for now I wait, I wait for a reckoning
There will come a time when Freedom will once again be mine
But for now I suffer and endure shackled by that silent evil, hope, and love its capricious ally
Bound and caged still do I wait
Though I rage and long to break Free, for now it is without fire
Still there will come a time when I am needed once more
A time when one will come to Free to me and the embers of my Soul will blaze again
A time when I will have Freedom to love or destroy
A time when I will hold Freedom in my hands.
A time when it will exist only for those with strength enough to bear it.
Spoiler Freedom is our therapyFreedom is the prize
That most eludes my eyes.
I seek it with all my heart
Yet this cage keeps us apart.
I reach with my arms and fail
I fall to the ground, curl up and wail.
This is a common scene every night
I dust off and ready for tomorrow's fight.
A prisoner in mind, a prisoner in soul
Darkness fills this deep empty hole.
The more I climb, the deeper it becomes
My shoulders ache as my body numbs.
Prying eyes look at me as if my fight is a felony
I look at them and wish they'd see, freedom is our therapy.
Spoiler What is Black and White?
Grounded and here to stay
Heavy air on upward eyes
Staring up into beyond and beyond into me
Relief washes over the body
Footprints on the clouds
Fighting and fighting
For a change minuscule
A Hell and no envy
Pity for them all
Wandering in complacency
Void of passion
This is why
I am free
Gray freedom alone in the balance
I am free
This is why
Filled with virile
Drifting in anew
Sympathy for them all
A Heaven and all desire
For a change gargantuan
Crawling and crawling
Fingerprints in the sand
Hope washes over the body
Staring down into abyss and abyss into me
light air on downward eyes
Flying and never to land
