I can't believe what Gintoki had would be so utterly terrifying. Utsuro's heart, one that is living and beating no less.
Those bandages with the markings would suggest that a spell/seal has been applied to it to ward off Altana energy and prevent further regeneration.
Who did it though? Ane and Mone? The Onmyouji? Or someone prior in ages past?
I get why Naraku would want it, but you would think Gintoki and Takasugi wouldn't have risked its existence. Not for a pipe dream surely?
And where is this ship headed off to? I can't imagine them leaving Japan.
Can I just say, I really appreciate how Sorachi is handling Takasugi's character?
Like, for most of the series' run, he had been hyped as the biggest candidate for the final villain. An assumption that easily comes to mind due to the hazy nature of a main plot.
And because of that, we never imagined the Gorilla had plans for him beyond playing the villain. We never imagined Sorachi would make him team up with Gintoki, or that the Kiheitai would ally themselves with the rest of our heroes, or even transition him into anti-hero status who in reality has to put up with Gintoki's stupidity, past and present, like every other character.
The best part of all this, is the entire process has felt natural. The changes in Mr "I just want to destroy the world" doesn't feel forced at all.
Sorachi is just that skilled of a writer.
