yeah with concentrate power.

When he boost his power with the arc he could destroy skypiea. So, if he could destroy that island what is the odds his home was an island made of rock and stone vs clouds.

Do not forget he shouldn't have the arc with him at his home island.

not trying to defend Enel, but are we sure he needs Maxim to boost his power?

did he say that somewhere? can't remember

It was the only way he created that huge ball of lighting to destroy the cloud island.

Then why did he use it? Why did he use Maxim to try to destroy skypiea and he use it to destroy cloud island?

wasn't Maxim just a flying ship? to reach the moon?

If it was the only way then how did he do it before........

Also how did Robin confirm Enel has the power to destroy sky island before she knew what the arc even was....

I am willing to bet your confusion comes from a time Enel said the arc amplifies his lightning strikes 10x but that has nothing to do with his ability to destroy islands

Then why did he use it? Why did he use Maxim to try to destroy skypiea and he use it to destroy cloud island?

Idk maybe because of what he was screaming the entire arc about wanting to get to the moon....

Because it's handy? He was already on it and it amplifies his attack potency so a good chance to flex his God-like power to those opponents to see. That doesn't mean he needs it. I mean if you need an attack of 10 mana to destroy something and your power is 12, then you're good to go. The fact that you use a device that boosts your ability to 120 doesn't mean you need it to destroy that something, just more effective. Now I'm not saying I know for sure Enel could have done by himself, but the example serves to show your flawed conclusion.

Besides he was using it to fly to the Moon so he had to use it anw. It's not like he was losing and then screamed ''crap, I need to destroy this island. Had to use Maxim otherwise I can't''

It was closed because people couldn't stick on topic and decided to treat that thread as a catch-all for anything and everything.

Look, thread topics will wander a bit and sometimes go off track.  The staff accepts that this will happen occasionally and it's part of a natural discussion.  Most of the time, things get back on track and it's just the way things go.  But the Enel thread was abused beyond repair and considering how no one seems to really accept that fact, it's remained closed to this day.

Thank you for the explanation and the clarity in the matter.

I am wondering though, since you said it was damaged beyond repair. If Enel does come back, which he promised he would, will it get reopened or could we start a new one?

Oh BTW that was a jab at DEW (who may or may not be gone) don't take offense.

If he were to return or show up again in some form, I'd say just make a new thread and let the old one be.  It would be cleaner that way.

No offense, since I'm the one with the BANHAMMER!  MUWAHAHAHAHA!

Awesome thanks!

Enel is truely one of Oda's best works. Love him or hate him everyone has a passionate discussion about him. If you say kuro or arlong or vergo or buggy or any specific VA I couldn't care less. But Enel elicites a response from everyone.

The difference being Enel is viewed in different lights logically - by people who value a good antagonist and people who hate antagonists.

Sanji is viewed in different lights because Oda wrote him to be a wimp and some people love Sanji too much to admit it.

you never forget your first. Enel was the first character in op that actually WOWed me. Luffy was getting annoying and logia were awesome but ace was no where to be seen (and fire is fodder) crocodile controlled the awesome element of sand.... same can be said about smoker... the insanely powerful element of smoke.....wahoo.... so it was around this time I was starting to hate the SH crew and start to notice logia weren't really that cool. Enter Enel. He controlled the all powerful element of lightning, he singlehandedly destroyed two islands and was set to destroy a third. He defeated Sanji and zoro twice each and the first time he defeated Sanji it was by touching Sanji with his finger.
The only real problem with Enel's arc wasn't his own but was.... well..... anyone that read louge town would remember lightning does nothing to luffy. So it was painfully obvious from the beginning Enel was going to struggle and luffy getting eaten by a snake meant we all got that old dbz vide. "Oh no an enemy that only goku can defeat!! Battle plan? Wait for goku to arrive and save the day!!!"

Akainu was amazing in every way. He sadly had a lot less to work with. Unlike Enel who was set up for success, akainu was actually an underdog in his own arc. I mean we had seen the admrials powers kizaru and aokiji, but we had yet to see the strength of the WB crew and we knew their captain was the strongest man in the world. And we knew luffy would be battling marines also. Akainu was set up to lose his arc. How is a villain supposed to be the under dog? The villain needs to be an all powerful force of nature (literally in Enel and akainu's case) who will trample the protagonist unless they over come their fears and invent a new finished with the power of friendship. And besides, if the antagonist is a weak kid, what sane man wants to see a big strong hero beating up a weak kid regardless of how mean he is.
All that aside, Akainu charged forward with the conviction and determination of a solider. He fought an unwinnable battle and some how emerged not only victiorus but looking like one of the top fighters in the world.

Wow I have to get my run away writers syndrom under control.

Too bad Akainu is too serious and agitated. I stil prefer laid back, so-high, lazy guys like Kizaru and Aokiji (one reason I like Starrk in Bleach) even though they don't do their jobs as well (who cares, we all know they could end WB's Top Commanders anw)

Enel is more amazing than Akainu in every way except power level. And even then it's not by much.

My hope is Enel reads some sort of manual training on the Moon, learns about CoA which would help him trade blows with heavy hitter in New World or Kizaru defeats him and Enel realizes he needs to train for a change and 3 months later God is reborn.

I hear you on the seriousness. I don't normally like overly serious characters..... cough jimbe you garbage.... we need to have a talk about that btw.....
overly serious characters typically highlight the cultural wall us westerners run into when reading Japanese manga.
For example, ace. He ran at akainu screaming "for honnor!!!!!!!! Don't insult my father!!!!!!!"
And us in America that grew up.... around other people are sitting here thinking "did you just fall for the 'my dad can beat up your dad' trap? That is grade school level stuff moron" I bet ace is the kind of guy who plays Xbox and gets offended when the 12 year olds make comments about his mother.....

But akainu's brand of seriousness hasn't crossed the line yet so I will allow it. Besides, too much goofy ruins a manga.

I could see Enel pulling a golden freeza
"I was born the strongest I never trained once, I always had the strength to make zoro grovel at my feet, if I hit the gym and get stronger, I will be the strongest in the world"
