Maybe I am the only one tired of this whole thing. Like it's not the same manga anymore. What does the author want to say? I tried to cope but nothing is really meaningful since the time skip.
It would have been better if the manga was actually in hiatus for a year or so before the time skip. That way, I wouldn't relate to the old story. But now, looks like the author is trashing all the old good guys and introduce new guys that I don't even know if it's a fodder or not.
I don't think a hiatus would have helped. I think the reason why it feels different, is that before they reached the basement, the biggest intrigue was the mystery (what are the titan, where did they come from, how can they overcome all this, who is the big enemy). Now that all these questions have been answered, the mystery component of the story is gone. If they had the climax of the story directly after the last reveal (basement), so having the climax of the whole story when Eren started the attack in Marley, would maybe have made it felt more fitting in the story.
So I would definitely agree that the manga is not the same / different now. It's not bad, but I miss the mystery.
