I've just seen there was no place to discuss about this lovely manga yet...

Chapter 76 is out, you can read it here: http://blackbutler.net/manga/ (for example)

I read the part where he fought Sebastian and almost killed him (if I remember right) and then he disappeared. Has he returned after that? :aww:

That school principal is quite slippery. Well, he may end up being a demon after all.

Nope, he didn't... There's a whole new arc now, and he's out of sight so far...

Chapter 78.

What's with discussing everything in a spoiler?

P.S. Dear Yana Toboso,

Using the cricket tournament as a main event and the things around the Principal as background = bad.

The principal being the main event while the cricket is in the background = good.

Why? Because principal = plot, cricket = mostly comic relief.

PLOT > COMIC RELIEF.

I want a chapter where something actually happens.

Love Kuroshitsuji!    But the last arc is been damn boring.

Spoiler

We're discussing with spoilers because there may be people who haven't read the latest chapters, I guess. I don't know if it's okay to just say it without the spoilers. :/

The latest chapter is up since a long time ago, and it's not like we're talking about some major characters being killed off, we're talking about... cricket. I bet I just ruined everyone's reading.

People generally use these threads to DISCUSS the latest chapters, not to hide their contents in spoilers and talk about the manga in general.

Jeez.

You're right. :)

I don't know which is worse, dealing with school "bullies" like Maurice or playing cricket for four chapters or something. You called cricket comic relief, but half of it is actually quite boring to me. Lau's strategy was awesome, though.

The cricket tournament won't ever be the main event; it's just annoying for some chapters (thought there are good moments in it), but everything is just to set-up the next part of the arc with that mysterious principal.

And to be honest, the cricket tournament is not being so long, looking at how long Kuroshitsuji arcs can be.

But sure, the principal is what matters the most. Him and Violet's drawings.

As for the spoiler tags, it was because Lumi has not caught up but if more people can discuss the current chapter, we indeed don't need the spoiler tags anymore.

Luckily plot will advance next chapter. The cricket finals are almost over, anyway.

It's not for being long, it just some parts seem like filler content to me. If the cricket tournament had been cut shorter I think it would have worked much better. Or like Rashugun said, it could have been in the background.

Though the mangaka could probably easily turn this into more heavy-handed regarding battles, fighting, etc., I have respect for their decision to try and keep the "English charm" of it all afloat here and there. It gets a bit frilly from time to time, and even downright pointless, but to know the author has the capability to weave the story in a myriad of ways is something I can tip my hat to.

Thouh, I never understood some of the bad guys in the earlier part of the story having cell phones in Victorian England... Does anyone have an explanation for that? (Apart from the whole it-being-historical-fiction route, that is.)

I don't remember that at all xD Who had a cellphone?

If it's a shinigami, it's fine, I suppose. Or at least, I wouldn't mind. But for other characters, it's way to weird to imagine them with a cellphone...

You can see a cell phone being used starting from the bottom of this page in chapter 3 and going on through page 44.

It's pretty curious stuff.

Maybe it's because he's a spy under the Queen's order, and like James Bond, he gets all kinds of tools... ^^

I can't see any explanation for that, really.

Eh, it's just the magic of fictional universes. Could very well have been that the mangaka originally planned to just take the Victorian style and implement it into a more contemporary world, but given where the story and setting are to this point, it's probably regarded as nothing more than an early fluke.

The author decided to make this a sports manga.

No, seriously xD
