Well from what it says is JJ said they are getting paramount to drop the case but I don't think anything official yet.

Can't watch the video atm but is that of the Enterprise or the Jonathan? So, the new ship looks combination of a reconfigured Miranda-class saucer section and a Vor'cha-class hull. WTF?

It's the new ship for the new CBS show, the USS Discovery.
It looks like an amalgamation of the Miranda, the Akira, and the Vor'cha (that part's terrible because no Klingon stuff in my Federation ship).

is it a war ship?
No one knows. That's all we got. We don't even know the time frame, but, given that it's pre-NCC-1701, it's probably set somewhere between Enterprise and ToS. The USS Akira, for example, was NCC-62497.

Having Klingon gear in it is pretty suspect if you ask me....Especially considering the timelineIt's the new ship for the new CBS show, the USS Discovery.

What are your thoughts? Does that look like the hull of a Klingon ship to you?
Well, the NCC number would seem to indicate that it's another early history series, but they might just want a low number on the titular ship.
I'd rather see a late, late 24th century or early 25th century show.

@FrostyMouse - Have you seen Beyond yet?
Was curious (if you did) how the Enterprise A looked to the original one?

Beyond was super boring and felt like it went nowhere. Apparently it is similar to the OG Star Trek pacing.
But I'm not an OG Star Trek fan so...

@FrostyMouse, it does a little bit but I don't really know what to think of it at this point.....Gotta wait for more details before I can truly make out how I feel

Just saw Beyond.
The film itself was okay. Could have been better in some regards.
But overall was okay and a little better than the previous 2 films. Which I didn't care that much for.
Anyways here's what bothered me the most about the film.
In any case I'm still liking the older films more.

So firstly this'll be 10 years prior to the TOS 5 Year Mission, and secondly this'll be more focused in on a female Lt. rather than thee highest ranking officer (usually a Cpt.).
I don't have any issue with it being 10 Years prior to TOS 5 Year Mission.
Though hopefully they don't try to pull a bunch of cameo's an such for younger TOS crew.
Not sure about the difference in POV via the Main Character. I suppose it could be interesting if this allows us to get more of the crew outside of the bridge or ranking/important officers. Though if this Lt. just sticks mostly to the bridge and around ranking officers, then they'd probably just been better off with another Cpt. character.
