Is it me or in the Boruto movie, Naruto realizes his son is cheating while he’s fighting Shikadai while in the anime, we get to see Boruto fight Shinki and eventually gets noticed by Naruto?

They stretched is a bit... overall it had very little impact on the direction - just more action and fun for us... the movie Chunin exam was just an incident and the little changes shouldn't change much about the coming events

Am I the only one who actually thinks the Next Generation anime is the best part of the entire Naruto franchise at this point?

Even knowing everything weeeell in advance, even after watching the movie covering the very same events, even with the little irks with the strange evolution of the world in the background, and even on a supposedly useless cheap setup episode filled with the same recurring flashback like this week, the anime still manages to make it work.

Not surprising. Part 1 of naruto the filler help the story now it sounds like the anime is helping boruto as well.

Very very impressive episode... best so far - better than the movie... The anime is making the manga look bad...

My only surprise is at how loving and caring Sasuke is with Boruto... you can see a clearly genuine smile - he looks happy when they're together - hope he gets a son soon :)

I love the parts of the anime that directly adapt from the source material like this fantastic adaptation of the movie. I can't remember if I liked the adaptation of the Shin saga this much. Otherwise I'm not particularly enamored by the anime filler or the ongoing manga although I follow them none the less.

I'm just glad they didn't forget the history of Naruto... the little things I saw on this episode

  1. Frog Kata is still unmatched... even the Otsutsuki clan cannot keep up with it - probably has something to do with their aura acting as an extension of their body... the expression on Momoshiki :devastated:
  2. Sasuke is still one handed
  3. Other Hokages are irrelevant - one shot and they out
  4. Naruto/Sasuke combo moves like Kurama fused with Susano
  5. Byakugan genjutsu is still unused in fights... though it's believed to be most powerful
  6. Naruto can still heal? :rly:

The shin saga was just rushed... seems they learnt from it - now if only they could reverse course and save the manga - sci-fi route just doesn't make sense with all the unique individuality of every Shinobi being eroded or made unnecessary - gone are the days when Rasengan was revered - buy a toy - cast Resengan :banghead:

So are we going to have a little love triangle in Boruto's team between Sarada and Mitsuki for Boruto's affection.

I praised the adaptation of the movie but now I must praise that they confirmed B is alive.

Are you asking how B is alive? IDK and Idc, all that matters is he's alive.

I don't know something tells me there is more to meet the eye to those actors. They might be part of the terrorist group or something. I especially don't trust the actor guy, that whole ring could do something sinister. As for the actress, I kind of get a princess vibe from her, they did that in the first Naruto movie I know, but still, someone very use to getting death threats, hmm.

I hope they don't go - here is your training, Ok, I'll add it to my abilities... They should take the learn during mission approach - that near death experience forcing the learning/ability to be introduced, used or forced out, and mastered... it would mean more fillers but overall good for the series.

These one or two episode intro/fillers for the next generation is two bland... (they have too many offspring - everyone got babies at the same time/period - even Kakashi :jawdrop: ) - a focused approach on a few would be better with each getting their own arc... and they killed the student/teacher relationship that made Konoha exceptional (remember Asuna, Guy, Kurenei, and Kakashi and the relationships they had with their teams - you could go as far back as the 4th, 3rd and their students)

Ultimately character development that ties into the story as it progresses is best... so far none with exception to one team - and even that is failing Konohamaru  - Lee is next - power from anxiety :banghead:  - smashing my head a lot lately  - I need to lower my expectations

Um no. Most of them had their favorites and one didn't have any. Gai was in love with lee. Kasashi was in love with sasuke. Asuna was in love with shika. And the rest seem like throw aways.

That's my point exactly... zero in Boruto (literally - where are the teachers :hmph: ) - everyone is chasing Boruto - including other teachers whenever they do show up... which I hope changes (they have plenty of time) - these one or two episode intro fail at including everyone into the story - they become more like dead end fillers

Student/teacher relationship that made Konoha exceptional

  • 3rd and Orochimaru
  • 4th and Kakashi (less screen time but referenced quite a lot)
  • Guy and Lee
  • Kakashi and Sasuke
  • Kurenai and Hinata (though to a lesser extent)
  • Asuma and Shikamaru (cut short by death but had huge impact) etc

They even had overlap story lines that tied to the overall outcome... Jiraiya (Karin, Yahiko, Nagato - later Naruto), Orochimaru (Sasuke, Anko), Tsunade (Sakura)... whether they had favorites or not isn't the point - the fact that those relationships/story-lines existed, and advanced or tied to the final outcome is what I'm inferring

It doesn't makes them exceptional it makes them clones for the most part. Since this is mostly filler we will wait and see but before konoha teams were terrible. The teachers where the problem. The 3rd treated Orochimaru like he was a gift from god and orochimaru acted as such and did anything he wanted. Tsunade made sakura into a clone of her and didn't actual help her in the long run. Since sakura was still useless in 98% of part 2 of naruto.

We talking bout two different things though related... I'm talking bout the existence of the relationship, and you're talking bout what type of relationship it was... positive or negative, there were relationships to talk about - and most tied into the overall story-line... hope that clears it up a bit

With many of the anime deviating from their own manga... we can only hope - so far (see manga) doesn't look promising... I'm really interested in the teachers story-lines and the roles they end up playing in the future... I mostly connected with Naruto during the Kakashi, 4th, Asuma, Jiraiya, Itachi, etc (more than the main story-line - team 7) and their broken lives, their struggles with the relationships, and how they were able to achieve their goals - it's what got me addicted - not the Naruto/Sasuke part... hoping for the same in Boruto
