MAL

Not a Toonami Faithfool.

"Ass Pull": Often the first term people use to show how dissatisfied they are with something before it can be explained.

"Bull shit": often the first term used when a person expresses their dissatisfaction with something and they don't like the explaination.

OK, did you miss the AND part? I didn't say they couldn't make bad movies. I am saying both of them working together with the odds of it bombing is less.

From a movie output perspective I have little faith.Outside of animation, their movies are formulaic and they don't exactly pride themselves in creating original movies.

What part of "Monopolies/Laissez-faire are always a bad idea in a Free Market/Capitalist economy!" do people NOT understand.

Referring to the merger as a monopoly is inaccurate. They will have to control 100% of the entertainment/media sector which will never happen.

For those whose only concern is the MCU,take into consideration 4000-10000 people are expected to lose their jobs.

"Disney has promised $2 billion in cost savings from the Fox takeover, with some in the industry expecting between 4,000-10,000 layoffs."

Given the movies Fox 2000 created it is understandable.I expect Blue Sky Studios to close as well, shifting Ice Age to Pixar.

Disney is a large company no doubt but putting them in that bracket just shows they have done a good job in convincing people they are unstoppable when in reality it is not even close. The AT&T-Time Warner merger is bigger than anything Disney could ever do.

When you also look at the parent company behind Universal Studios they still do not compare.

They may be bigger, but in terms of sales, Disney killed them both in the past 2-3 years or so and now that they have Fox, its only gonna be a lot more revenue from here once they start incorporating all of the Fox properties into their regular lineups

Strictly referring to their movie divisions,Disney movies generate a lot of money but they also create their fair share of box office bombs, the biggest box office bombs over the past decade have come from Disney.A Wrinkle in Time,Solo,Tomorrow Land,Lone Ranger etc.

Not to detract from their success they have "won" the year since 2016 and will do so this year but how long that last is anyones guess, there is so many live action remakes they can do and the MCU is near its end for the core group of heroes.

One of Agetha Christie's best. . .and perhaps darkest mystery that she wrote. (I know, this one is a TV Mini-Series but it still qualifies as Movie and felt it fit best here than in TV Thread).
