Destination is a state of mind. A tale of one girl and her bike and the road ahead. Kino wanders around the world on the back of Hermes, her unusual, anthropomorphic motorcycle, only staying in each country for three days. During their adventures, they find happiness, sadness, pain, decadence, violence, beauty, and wisdom. But through it all, they never lose their sense of freedom. They discover that because of the world's imperfections, it is actually a thing of beauty.
"The world is not beautiful, therefore it is."

I have not yet seen the original series so I can't compare this to that, though I do intend to watch it when I get some free time.
For this series I think the first episode was definitely the strongest, I have mixed opinions on the other episodes since. I'll give a breakdown of each episode later this week.
Also I'm curious if Kino's gender is supposed to be significant in any way, the series synopsis says female but the show itself seems to treat it with ambiguity for some reason.

Apart from the Colosseum episode not being as good as the original did it imo (I heard that it was still pretty accurate to the LN version though....Moreso than the original anime version was) this series has been pretty good so far imo with the most recent episode being AMAZING
