They aren't fighting the WG and Marines directly. They're not attacking Marine bases, as far as we know - so it seems they're trying to avoid fighting the Marines directly and instead weakening the WG by taking down nation after nation. I could be wrong, but that's what it reads like to me. *shrugs* (Maybe indirect warfare is a more appropriate phrase to use, you mean?)

I always saw it as fighting using both conventional and unconventional means.
So yes things like indirect warfare is appropriate, but whether he likes or not he will still have to deal with the Admirals, VA's and maybe the Shichibukai if they still exist. For him to do that he needs to power. I think Dragon is solid Yonkiral level, and imo he is probably the strongest man alive right now. But someone like Akainu can give him a hell of a fight.

That still leaves Kizaru, Fujitora, Ryokugyu


For now I still am hoping that there are two or three people we do not know of who can give the the top marines a serious challenge. Or maybe the Revo's are indeed doomed to fail, and that it will be the job of the SH's to take down the WG and fight those Admirals.

Hence everyone predicting that the M3 will take the final fight to Admirals.

Not necessarily, actually. His aim is to take down the WG, and in theory you could do this without entering direct combat whatsoever. Or rather, you stack the deck in your favour first, by getting an army capable of doing real battle. How do you do that? You steal your enemy's troops. =) Their tactics make sense BECAUSE they're so much weaker than the WG. So yeah, not surprising in the least for me.
Dragon is a top candidate for WSM, yeah.

Now with Fuji thrown in the mix for possible opponents in the future. Which do you think is more likely between those two?

Sure, Zoro vs Fujitora and Zoro vs Kizaru are the two big ones. The problem is that both make sense. Both have solid connections. So... I don't know. *shrugs* I really don't. I think Zoro and Kizaru are more connected than Zoro and Fujitora are, so I think I'll put my money on that. But it's very, very tentative. You?

Yeah its difficult to tell. Either or is fine with me lol
Before I was almost certain of Zoro vs Kizaru, especially with Rayleigh saving him from Kizaru.
To me Kizaru has an EoS vibe, Fuji not so much, I fear for him and that bloody ambition of his.
But it definitely is between these two if they are to be marine opponents at the end.

Mihawk being right-handed goes to show how his and Shanks represent a "failed generation". The Roger/Rayleigh of that era did't become crewmates, and those differences show in their dexterities. Just like how Luffy resembles Roger but not TRULY Shanks, Zoro resembles Rayleigh but not TRULY Mihawk. Even though they're both dark, individualists, the strongest swordsmen of their generations, stuff like that. So yeah.

They are still full of win and are close friends even if they are not crewmates, I think of them as more of "bridge" to the next generation.

Failed in the sense that they didn't produce a Pirate King. Or even a PK-level fighter, actually. =) Of course they're awesome! And they ARE clearly a bridge to the new generation. But that just proves how they're not a "real" duo like Roger/Rayleigh or Luffy/Zoro. They're simply not on the same level.

I'm not too depressed, though. It was a good game, which was always the most important part for me. Germany was that little bit sharper yesterday, after all. And Argentina was always meant to win the silver medal, that's poetry.

Wished Argentina capitalized on their chances , they had many to score a goal.
And sadly they stuck in their half for pretty much the entire game.

No they should win, that way they can change their countries name to Aurumtina ;)

Overall I loved the tournament, Argentine a was the main team I was cheering for, and they made it to the finals, many of the games were entertaining for the most part, much better then the last World Cup.

I don't really MIND Argentina, they were like Belgium to me; just kinda meh. Don't care much one way or the other. *shrugs* Now I just hope the Netherlands don't win it, that'd be depressing. I guess I'm kind of cheering for Brazil? Fat chance, there. *rolls eyes*

lol yeah Brazil is really the favoured team, and it seems officiating is on their side.
But with Neymar gone and Silva being out for the game, wonder how they will adapt to Germany.
